Angels in Disguise

Something Good No Comments »

I had immediate financial needs this week and I really don’t know how to resolve it. I don’t know where to find money. At the back of my mind I know that God will help me resolve it, that I just need to have faith. And, He did. God never let me down. :)

I asked few friends but they didn’t have extra money anymore, too. Yet, they helped me in their own ways to find some. I really appreciate the gesture and their efforts to help me. :) I was worried then but I didn’t lose hope. I know that everything will be okay for I have God. And, once again, He never left me.

In spite of the many terrible things that happen in our world today, it is still good to know that there are still people around us that we can really call as our friends; that God truly will never leave us no matter what happens. We just need to have faith and never lose our trust in Him.

Thank you to all my friends. You are God’s sent to me. You are all my angels in disguise. :)

God bless us all!

Ciao! :)

The Art of Acceptance

I sat on one of the pews in the church yesterday. I have not heard the mass on that schedule for a long time. I came in about 5 minutes earlier. The priest and the church servants are already lining up outside the church, getting ready for the processional. As the commentator finished introducing the priest to lead the mass, the choir started singing the entrance hymn.

He really plays the piano so well. As I listen to the soothing sound of the choir’s voices and the music that accompany their song, my memory began to go back in time. I have known him since I was 18. I have been part of their family not because of any romantic relationship we had but his brothers and sister and his parents treated me as part of them. I remember spending a new year with them. I have witnessed him cry and got broken hearted. I was his silent absorber. :(

I have cried because of him a long time ago. I had fallen in love many times after him but those are all long gone and forgotten. But, he remained in my heart. The last serious talk that we had was before he got married.

I told him that I’m going to get married too because he’s getting married already. He told me that I have a bright future ahead. He said that I should take care of my family and give my mother a good life. He told me not to get married yet. That talk happened about 5 years ago. :(

The Lord knows everything that is inside my heart. As I kneel down and pray, a reflection came into me. God showed me the three men I have love in my life. Two of them were just an unrequited love only; or what my Ninang Cher called as a “One Way Street” love. God showed me my pianist, my TM and my first love. As I looked each one of them, I told the Lord that in reality I would have picked my first love, because he knows and accepts me as I am. However, we have many differences especially when it comes to faith. Then, I whispered to God that if I would be given a chance, to choose whom I would want to be with for the rest of life, then it would be my pianist.

The Lord answered back; He told me that I have known him for more than a decade. My pianist had the chance on me many years ago. The Lord told me that if he has a feelings for me then, then he should have taken the chance to let me know about it. He is now married with two sons. The Lord made me realized that if he didn’t love me then, he would never will, especially now. :(

As I end my prayers, I felt the hurt, but also felt freedom. I learned to set myself free from that unrequited love; a liberation that I should have done a long time ago. I should have accepted that truth about five years ago.

In our lives, we have a lot of hopes and experiences that we should have let go a long time ago. Instead, we continue to hold on to those things that hinders us to move on. I know that it is not easy to let go of something that you are hoping to happen or to get. But, it could also be the reason why we’re not able to notice the better things given to us instead of it.

Learning to accept the things or people we can never have will make our lives easier and happier. The process may not be that easy though. Cry if you would but always remember and believe that God has prepared the best for us. That He would reveal His gift in His own sweet time.

Just have faith. God loves us!

Ciao! :)

I am experiencing financial difficulties now a days. There are so much debts to pay but the money I have is not enough to pay for all the bills. I really don’t know how or whom I can borrow money from, but I am not losing any hope. I keep my faith and spirit high. I believe that help from God will come somewhere.

While I am taking a rest, I go through the pages of Chicken Soup for the Soul. I stumbled on this article. I hope that this will make you feel secured. God loves us!

A Creed For Those Who Have Suffered

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve..
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey..
I asked for health, that I might do great things..
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things..
I asked for riches, that I might be happy..
I was given poverty, that I might be wise..
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men..
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God..
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life..
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things..
I got nothing I asked for – but everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself,
my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among men, most richly blessed!

Ciao! :)

Hanging on For Life

My aunt asked me yesterday to search for a picture of Mama Mary holding a fetus that she will use for their badge. On the 30th day of November, Legion of Mary will hold its annual general reunion and usually a badge is made to represent a certain preasidium.

As I do my research I came accross with this picture which really strikes me. I hope that through this picture, a lot of woman will have a second thought of committing abortion. In the first place, though abortion may be legal in some countries, but hey! abortion is not legal and will never be in the laws of God.

I have found this Bible verses on what the Bible says about abortion.

Romans 1:16 (English Standard Version)
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Romans 6:3-4
3Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 10:9-10
9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Mark 16:16
16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Acts 17:30
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

Acts 2:38
38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 22:16
16And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.

Pay a close attention on the encircled portion of the picture. See the little hand of a baby clinging on to the surgeon’s finger. That is baby Samuel Alexander Armas. He was born on December 2, 1999. To this day, he is already 8 years old.

I really having goosebumps while I’m looking at this picture.

Click here to read about the story behind this.

We should always remember that a child is not a choice. And a child or having a baby, is a wonderful gift from God that has to be loved and cared for.

It's my Life, Something Good No Comments »

About 4 days ago my mother and I were worried because we don’t have any food left in our fridge. There’s just around 2-3 cans of corned beef. No more eggs, no more rice. And worst, the money I have is just enough for my everyday “baon” until the next payday. myspace graphic comments

But then again, and as always, God is in the rescue. Last Wednesday night, I received a text message from my good friend Julius that we can get our special gift from HR. That’s actually a GC that our company gives for tenured employees.

I was expecting to receive that GC at around Aug. 18. But, it was really a blessing and just came in time.  I remember a quote about prayers. That when God answers our prayers it is YES, NO and NOT YET. YES and you’ll receive what you asked for. NO because He has prepared something better. NOT YET, for it’s not the time to receive whatever you asked for.

Well, I know  that God’s love for me is unconditionally inspite of shortcomings. We just need to have faith and trust in Him. For He will never fail us. myspace graphic comments

Bible Promises

Holy Scriptures 13 Comments »

My bestfriend’s(daisy) gift for me on my 25th birthday which was 2 years ago was a book. It is called Bible Promises for you.

Honestly, I have not read the book yet, up until today. I know that everyone of us has our own problems in life. It could be about money, our family and many other things. We often find ourselves caught in anxieties. We feel depressed. We are in fear. We have lots of worries, and we get tempted.

I do find myself bounded within life’s challenges and just don’t know how to get out of it. So then I went to my closet and looked for the said book. I told myself that it is time for me to read it. Be inspired and be more faithful.

It was really inspiring and I’d like to share it with you.
God’s Word – the BIBLE, is full of promises.
Promises made to His children whom He loves.
Because God is God, and His very nature is truth,
He cannot be unfaithful to these promises.
Everything that He has promised to each of us,
We can trust Him to carry out completely.

Remember that these verses are God’s guarantees
to us, His children. Through prayer and practice,
these promises can become part of our life,
giving us hope, joy and victory.

My parents don’t always understand me. How should I respond to them?

  • A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother. Proverbs 10:1 NIV
  • If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than tan unbeliever. I Timothy 5:8 NIV

I’m full of anxiety. Where can I find peace?

  • Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? Luke 12:22-23, 25 NRSV
  • If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace. Romans 8:6 CEV
  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

I feel depressed, desperate. Where’s the light at the end of the tunnel?

  • I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit; out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. Psalm 40:1-2 NIV
  • Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless? I trust you! And I will praise you again because you help me, and you are my God. Psalm 42:11
  • And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. Romans 5:5 NLT

I’m afraid. Where can I turn for help?

  • Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
  • God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble. And so, we won’t be afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains tumble into the deepest sea. Psalm 46:1-2 CEV
  • The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 NIV

Some nights I lie awake and worry. Can God help me slee?

  • When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24 NIV
  • I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me. Psalm 3:5 NRSV
  • He grants sleep to those he loves. Psalm 127:2 NIV

Forbidden things seem so appealing. What should I do when I’m tempted?

  • So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while punishing the wicked right up until the day of judgment. 2 Peter 2:9 NLT
  • Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:7-8 NRSV
  • When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. James 1:13 NIV

Evan Almighty

movies No Comments »

I arrived  home this afternoon from work, and was surprised to see my daughter watching Evan Almighty. She usually watches, Shrek. Yah you read it right. She loves Shrek 1, 2 and 3. Anyway, knowing my daughter is fond of animals, I found her enjoying the movie. I personally love this movie. It is full of moral and if we will only internalize the message this movie gives well, “we can change the world.”

I’m not going to do a movie review about this film, for I want you my good readers to see it. Maybe you’ve seen the movie, maybe not. But you’ll definitely enjoy it!

Problems and difficulties are part of our everyday life. Often times we ask God to give us strength, to give us peace of mind, to give us courage, etc. And  often times, we thought that God doesn’t listen to our pleas. Yet, we didn’t realize, that God does! He does! He doesn’t actually gives us courage when we ask for it, but He gives us oppurtunity to be courageous. When we ask our family to be close to each other, He gives us the oppurtunity to be close with our family. Sometime, it is really hard to understand God’s way of giving us what we needs. Yet, we should never lose our trust and faith in Him.  God loves us more than we could imagine. I know, He will never leave us in vain.

The story also told us that if we want to change the world, then one Act of Random Kindness will do the trick. See that? ARK? That’s what Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) made. Try to look for the rainbow when the flood is over.

 See the pictures:

hmmm, giving instructions to Evan?

So cute!

 A giraffe!

Oh so thirsty!

Taking a break after a tiring work..

We’ll if you haven’t seen this one, then grab a copy now and watch it. Enjoy and learn!
