I Love to Dance

It's my Life No Comments »

After my mother finished listening to her 60s and 70s music, I played my own CD to our player. It is a collection of dance hits of the 80s! :) I really love those songs! I am not a dancer though but I love to dance. I love September, Souvenir, Nothing’s Gonna Keep Me From You (My Love), Chilly Cha Cha and Rico Mambo. :)

Cha-cha is our clan’s favorite dance. :) When we are younger, my sisters, our cousins and me love dancing Cha-cha. My paternal cousin Catherine and my sister Pauline are the family dancers. When we get together, it will not be complete if we’ll not dance together. Aside from dancing Chilly Cha-cha, Cathy’s favorite dance is Rico Mambo!
My mother and my tita Evelyn always tell her that when she’s just 4 years old, she would often ask her mother to play Rico Mambo so she could dance.

This is the popular inmates of Cebu dancing Rico Mambo

When my sisters and I spend our summer vacation in Quezon then, we always attend the “Sayawan” which is part of the celebration of the barrio’s fiesta.

It really makes me smile while reminiscing those days. :) We have our own lives and own families now. In fact, we seldom see each other already. :) At home, I make it a point to have a “dance session” with my daughter (who always notices my chest acne!). We dance to the tunes of the latest dance craze today and my favorite dance songs. It is one of our bonding moments. :)

I can tell that my daughter will be a very good singer like me! Hehehe! But, I know that she will also enjoy dancing like I do. :)

Old Time Favorites

It's my Life No Comments »

Every Sunday morning, we are being wake up by the music of the 60’s and 70’s. My mother love listening to the music from that genre. She said that it was the time of great music and musicians. Since, she’s been listening to the same old songs every Sunday, we get to memorize the lyrics of the songs! :)

Honestly, I get to love those songs as well. Some of my favorite songs from that Genre are Portrait of My Love, Constantly, Don’t Cry Joni, Sad Movies, Knock Three Times and a lot of more! :) I just cannot remember the titles of the others

Listen to and watch the video of Sad Movies

I actually saw those big CDs when I paid visit to their house. Decades had past when those songs reached the peak of popularity. I hope that radios will continue to play the songs from that genre even just for a day. :)

Bits and Pieces about Cats

Animal Lover No Comments »

Talking about cats, I found a magazine from our shelf about cats. I scanned through it’s pages and read fascinating facts about cats. I only hope I have a scanner so I can share those lovely cats. :) Well, hope you enjoy these bits and pieces about our beloved felines. :)

  • Evidence suggests that cats were companions to human as early as 4500 years ago. The Egyptian people were the first humans to realize the exceptional value of cats.
  • As far as your cat is concerned, history has demanded that the feline be the most pampered of all species.
  • Gone are the days when women were often persecuted for having pet cats.
  • Not so in the 14th century, when the cats are busy killing the rats that spread the dreaded Black Death (bubonic plague).
  • The cats has emerged from the hunted to the hunter since the Middle Ages.
  • One thing that absolutely crucial for your cat’s health is the availability of fresh, cool water at all times. Every cat needs a clean bowl with fresh water at all times.
  • The history books tell us that cats were domesticated mainly for the ability to hunt granary-ravaging rats.
  • Greenery is good for a cat’s digestion. Just make sure that the grass you cat nibbles on has not been treated with lawn chemicals.
  • When you take the cat into the shower, make sure that the shampoo you will use on your cat is veterinarian-approved. Be very careful not to get it in your cat’s eyes, nose, ears, or mouth. The cat’s head should be kept dry during the bath.
  • Cats scratch for a variety of reasons, including scent marking, shedding their outer claws, and for exercise.
  • Cats and kittens love colorful toys shaped like mice.
  • Cats can’t resist stringy toys they can leap for and chase.
  • Taking time to play with your cat every day will relieve tension in both you and your feline. (This is very true to me. :)) (Source: CATS Quarterly YB127)

I also noticed that a witch is always associated with a cat (Well, I know for sure that I am not one. :))

Good Morning Sunshine!

Beauty and Health No Comments »

I fell asleep last night while in front of the PC! My mother then woke up and asked me to transfer to bed so I can have a comfortable sleep. Anyway, it’s a brand new morning. A fine Sunday morning! I am still sleepy though. My mother told me that I should have take advantage the “evening sleep” since it is my off from work. She said that the best way from different acne solutions is getting enough sleep.

Well, she’s actually right. I noticed that when I didn’t go to work last week, I noticed that my pimples are lessened. :)

It’s Sunday today, don’t forget to go to mass. Whatever religion you are part with, what matters is the faith that you have in one true God.

Friends Forever

It's my Life No Comments »

I was just finish watching Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. It is a story of four friends who shared a pair of pants. The jeans fit them perfectly even though they have different sizes. They believed that the pants bring miracles to their lives. I suggest that you get a copy of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 1 and 2. It is a great movie about life and friendship.

America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel

While watching the movie, I cannot help but miss my friends and sisters, Pinky, Daisy and Ime. We have our own lives now but the friendship bond will always be there. I know that even if we do not see each other very often, our friendship will last a lifetime. :)

I would take this opportunity to congratulate Pinky for giving birth to a healthy baby boy. We will visit you soon. :)

Except for Ime, the three of us (Pinky, Daisy and I) have our own kids already. I cannot wait to visit Pinky in Bulacan this March. Daisy and I planned to bring our kids along but we decided not to. We both know that our children will get bored and will ended up asking us to go home. We haven’t seen Pinky in a while and we need a lot of time to patch up with each other.

Hope to see you girls, soon! :)

Goodbye Batik

Animal Lover No Comments »

I have asked to look after a sick cat at Adscapes. My ate’s are out of town and they asked me a little favor. I saw Batik yesterday and he was so weak. I helped ate Heidi to feed Batik because he is not eating. She told me to bring Batik to PARC today but it was too late. :( On my way to De Castro, I received a text message from ate Ness that Batik is gone. It was so sad. Nevertheless, I still went to their office and made sure that Kuya Ariel, their errand man, will bury Batik properly in their yard. We are still thankful to God still because Batik had a happy death. Manang told me that after he ate a little food and drink a little water, he just find a comfortable place to sleep and then, they just found him dead. :(

Though I only had a few hours with Batik, I got attached to him. Well, like what ate Gwen told me, at least Batik didn’t die on the road but instead he was loved and had been taken cared off.

Batik has crossed the rainbow bridge as well. For sure he was met by his siblings, which I forgot the names. I will ask ate Ness if they have Batik’s picture that I can post here.

Thank you Batik for the joy you brought to me and to your mommies. :)

Ciao! :)

Enjoying My Rest Day

Places No Comments »

It has been a while since I sat on my computer to tell you guys how my life has been this past few days. I should have joined my best friend’s family celebrating the birthday of her mother in Cuenca, Batangas yesterday. However, because I would want to rest and I am avoiding being absent anymore, I preferred not to come even though I love to. :( I hope mommy Luz enjoyed her birthday celebration at Endaya’s Cove. :)

My best friend Daisy and is it David?

I grabbed this picture from Daisy and according to her this is the infinity view of the pool. It looks like it’s part of Taal Lake

I had a good sleep this after and so I decided to arrange my beauty paraphernalia in a box. My mother told me that I have been buying and getting different beauty creams, (I actually found an anti aging product from my stuff, too :)) but I am so impatient to use them often. She said that I will only use them when I remember using them but not as committed as I should be. Oh well, she’s right. I lack discipline and perseverance. Well, I will try to be as eager as I can; anyway, it is for my own good too. :)

I will enjoy the rest of my off and hope you do the same, too! :)

Dreaming of You

Uncategorized No Comments »

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I’d stay up and think of you
And I’d wish on a star
That somewhere you are thinking of me too

Cuz I’m dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming about you and me

Wonder if you even see me
And I wonder if you know I’m there
If you looked in my eyes
Would you see what’s inside?
Would you even care?

I just wanna hold you close
But so far, all I have are dreams of you
So, I wait for the day and the courage to say
How much I love you(Yes, I do)

I’ll be dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming about you and me

Ahhh…I can’t stop dreaming of you
Ahhh…I can’t stop dreamin

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I’d stay up and think of you
And I still can’t believe that you came up to me
And said, “I love you; I love you too”

Now I’m dreaming with you tonight
Till tomorrow, and for all of my life
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming with you endlessly…

I Am Asthmatic, too :(

Beauty and Health No Comments »

I mentioned in my previous post that I wasn’t able to report for work for 4 days last week. I experienced difficulty in breathing and I usually end up catching my breath especially when climbing up a staircase or a footbrigde. I went to see a pulmonary doctor last Wednesday and he advised me to undergo Pulmonary Function Test. I went to Medical City last Sunday to undergo the test.

Well, the test has not been that easy. :( The following day, I went back to my doctor and he explained to me the result. He said that I am asthmatic, too. Anyway, asthma runs in our family. He said that I have it all along, I just ignore or I was able to tolerate it then. I told him that I volunteered in PAWS and we have cats at home. He said that he will not stop me from volunteering and from taking care of my pets, because he can that those are my happiness. The catch there is, I will be on medication for 3 months. Every month he will re-assess me.

I am just praying that I will not have any serious attack. Please pray for me. Thank you.

Stretch Marks Dilemma

Beauty and Health No Comments »

Stretch marks have been a dilemma not only of pregnant women but the ones who just gave birth as well. I must admit that I went through this problem as well. I was just talking to my friend who just gave birth and she is so worried about the stretch marks she has. I told her that there are a lot of stretch marks cream available in the market that will solve her problem. There are different manufacturers who offer good deals and dependable products.

Judy told me as well that as per pharmacist view, stretch marks can actually be prevented by the usage of moisturizers especially with cocoa butter. She said that, that is the active ingredient of most lotions that claim to have the capability of preventing stretch marks. Thanks for that info Judy! :)

And, you must be very patient and never forget to apply cream or moisturize. Always remember that patience is a virtue.

History Mystery

In the News No Comments »

While I am waiting for my friend Judy, I scrubbed my outlook and check for emails that needs to be deleted. I found an email sent by my dear tl and this is really interesting that I couldn’t help myself but share with you. It is possible that you have read this before, but for the benefit of those who haven’t seen or read this yet, this one’s for you.

Have a history teacher explain this—– if they can.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln’s secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy’s Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named ‘Ford.’
Kennedy was shot in a car called ‘ Lincoln ‘ made by ‘Ford.’

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here’s the kicker…

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh? Hey, this is one history lesson most people probably will not mind reading!

INCREDIBLE

1) Fold a $20 bill in half…

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

2) Fold again, taking care to fold it exactly as below

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

3) Fold the other end, exactly as before

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

4) Now, simply turn it over…

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What a coincidence! A simple geometric fold creates a catastrophic premonition printed on all $20 bills!!!
COINCIDENCE? YOU DECIDE.

As if that wasn’t enough. Here is what you’ve seen…

First: The Pentagon on fire…

Then The Twin Towers.

..And now .. look at this!

What can I say? Let us all pray for everybody and for world peace. Amen.

A Day with the Cats

Animal Lover No Comments »

I mentioned in my previous post that I signed up as PAWS volunteer. I filed a vacation leave last Monday and spent the rest of my afternoon in PAWS. I decided to go there after lunch because there is no nearby cafeteria where I can eat lunch. I arrived in PAWS at around 2PM. It was not as busy as Saturday, but there were visitors and other volunteers, too.

First, I joined Cha in touring the guests around the PARC. She asked me to join her so next time I will be able to accompany visitors around the shelter. After the tour, I left my bag in the office and arrange some office furniture then I started working.  Most of the volunteers that are present last Monday attended the Dog Runs and gave some of the dogs a bath. Since they were attending the canine, I decided to spend the day with the cats. I was able to meet some of the adorable cats for adoptions. Some of them have name tags but others just lost theirs.

The shelter currently houses aroun 256 cats and kittens, and around 55 dogs. I spent an hour in the Kittenery first. Actually that room is for kittens, but since cats number have grown, the kittens there have grown into cats and were not transferred to Catery anymore. I checked the cats eyes and hold each one of them. Each cats has their own unique personalities. There are very sweet. There are some who will just ignore you. Some will also leave scents on you. I swept the floor in the kittenery then went to catery which is just in beside it. I checked on each of the cats. Swept the floor and map the room. I was finished already at around 4PM. Then while taking a break in the office, Cha asked if I can attend the Sick Bay.

There were like 20 cats and kittens in the Sick Bay. I gave each of them the necessary medicine and made sure that they’re okay.

I left PAWS at around 8PM. It was very tiring though but I was very happy. It was fulfilling. I’ll be coming back there, soon.. :)
