I know it’s been a while since I have updated my online journal. I am glad though that you guys continue to “patronize” this site and reading my older posts. :) Well, got a lot of stories to share and I hope that somehow you will learn something from my own life experiences! :)

Another year older yet WISER

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

I hope so!!! Hehehe!!! I celebrated my 29th birthday last Friday and I really enjoyed my day. I didn’t have any party at all. My mom just cooked some of my favorite food, then we ate together. My sister Patty was on leave on that day. My cousins Joy and April were present, too. Patty’s bestfriend, Oui came in for dinner later that night. :)

I heard the 12Noon mass at Sto. Rosario Parish Church. I actually planned to visit Antipolo Cathedral but had to re-schedule it some other time. I didn’t have enough money to buy my cake, and so I had this funny idea for me to be able to blow a candle on my birthday! :) Since mama made biko for dessert, we formed it in a round cake form and stick a candle in the middle. Looking at from a far, will make you think it was a chocolate cake but moving closer to it, you would be surprised to find a native kakanin. :)

Nonet and Mommy. Both of us miss our daddy..

I was really laughing when we lighted the candle. Then my family started singing happy birthday and I whispered my birthday wish. Well, God knows the desires of my heart and I believe that everything will be granted in His sweet time. :)

My family. Patty, Antoinette, Me-me, Mama and Pauline.

I have grown another year older but I am more wiser now. Well, hopefully. Hehehe! I am planning to focus on my career and enhance my abilities and knowledge as an IT Engineer. Perhaps, one day I would be part of an IT consulting company like Consonus. I will also start reading and taking the assessment for DCSE at Dell.

I have plans of going abroad, but it isn’t my priority this time. And I hope that in 3 or 4 years time, I would be walking down the isle to marry ney. Well, by then, Pauline is already graduated from college and hopefully has a job already.

I would like to thank God for continuous blessings and love He is giving me.

Oliva Cigar for Grandpa

Uncategorized No Comments »

I received a text message from ney this morning. He said that he is talking to his father over breakfast. Antoinette’s paternal grandfather is giving ney pieces of advise on how he will survive in a different country. Ney father is one of those we call ex-abroad. His father stayed overseas for more than 10 years. Since, this will be the first time that ney will be travelling and would be away for 2 years, his father is constantly giving him some heads up! :)

Ney asked him about the “pasalubong” he would want to receive, well, Antoinette’s lolo told ney that a box of oliva cigars will do! :)

Ney is the youngest of two siblings. He’s been with his parents all his life and I know that his parents are worried about him as well. Yet, ney needs to this for himself as well.

Oh dear God, please bless ney. Amen.

Lines like Tiger’s?

My sisters and I were talking about going to the beach or a resort to celebrate Pau’s birthday. Pauline will turn 18 this month! :) Since, we do not have the money to throw a big party for her, we are thinking of just a small celebration with family and her closest friends. Patty suggested that we celebrate it in a resort. She said that we’ll take advantage of the occasion for our “annual” swimming gallore! :)

Then she said that she’s going to wear her “sexiest swimming outfit”! Hahaha!!! Well, if you would know my sister you would really laugh at that statement. :) Then, I asked her what is she going to do with her cellulites? Well, there are many people who worry about cellulites lines and cellulite cures. Cellulites are those dimpled appearance of the skin that can be found on hips, thighs, and buttocks. It has been said that cellulites are much more common in women than in men. The differences of the how the fat, muscle, and connective tissues distributed in men and women’s skin causes cellulites to appear commonly in women.

She said that she still has 2 weeks to work on it! There are a lot of creams and ointments available in the market that she can use to get rid of it! :)

Well, we are all excited about this occasion. I hope that our “planned” outing will push through. I also need some time to relax and energize! :)

A Cup of Frap!

Uncategorized No Comments »

If there’s something that would make me feel good during my lowly days is a venti size of Mocha Frap from Starbucks. :) I was on my way to Galleria this afternoon when ney started to annoy me. :( Well, it is true that when you ask God to give you patience, He will give you instead an opportunity to be patient. :) To make me feel better, I grab a venti size from Starbucks and it did made me feel okay! :)

Next thing that I would be when I got home is to apply some cool eye creams. :)

Well, what about you? What makes you feel good when you feel sad?

It’s Holy Monday

Uncategorized No Comments »

I just came home from hearing the 12Noon mass. The weather is hot and I really felt dizzy when I reached the church. It’s a good thing that the church doors have industrial handles . I was able to grip the handle and get back on my feet again. The gospel is about Jesus’ love for His friends, Lazarus, Maria and Martha. The priest stressed out that Jesus is not only our saviour but our friend, too. He is the friend who will never ever turn His back.

I have experienced and experiencing Jesus’ friendship in my life. I may not be a good daughter and though I have committed number of sins, His love for me never fails. Whenever I am down, I can firmly feel His loving arms comforting. Though, I do not speak and just keep quiet, I know that He hear my sobs and heart so loud that even if I do not see Him I feel him.

I know that each of us has our own experiences with regard to Jesus’ love. What matters is that we will never turn our back on Him and that we will always be faithful.

Earthquake hits Manila

Uncategorized No Comments »

Thank God it wasn’t that strong. I was feeding the cats yesterday, when my aunt called my attention telling me that an earthquake is happening. I felt dizzy though, but since it’s already past 1PM then, I thought that I was only sleepy. My aunt kept on saying that there is an earthquake so I stood up and felt it. The only word I was able to say was “Oh my God”.

I was shaking when I went into the house. My aunt’s voice was calm but I felt her fear. My sister who was on the 19th floor of a certain building in Makati called after the shake. My aunt talked to her and asked her to go home. She confirmed my aunt that she was fine and she will be okay.

The earthquake was in the news that night. Manila was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0, with epicenter in Mindoro.

Every night on my to work, I never fail to pray to God to keep my family and all the people who are dear to me to be safe from harm. And, I also pray that God will keep our house and the whole looban away from fire, from flood and from earthquke. I believe that I will continue to utter prayers and will include our dear country as well.

I also encourage everybody to pray for each other and for our country. It’s a good thing that the shake didn’t cause any damage. Let us all pray that God will keep our country from danger. In our everyday life, especially during times of trouble, God is the only one we should depend on.

People Power 24th Anniversary

Uncategorized No Comments »

Last February 25, the Philippines celebrated the 24th anniversary of People Power Revolution (or the EDSA Revolution). The People Power revolution paved way to remove the martial law president, Ferdinand Marcos from power. The same incident made the late president Corazon C. Aquino the first woman president of the country. A simple and gentle yet intelligent homemaker led the country and brought democracy back.

I was only 4 years old then. I remember that I used to join my father climbing the roof of our neighbor. My kuya Michael and kuya Nomer even lent me telescope so I could see the “tora-toras” flying in the sky. We live in Rosario, and the incident happened in EDSA Ortigas which is just about 10minutes away from where we live. I have no idea what was happening then. All that matters to me then was I enjoyed watching little planes flying.

Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo (Gosh this video and song make me cry always.)

Only when I went to school that I realize the importance of that incident. I always get teary-eyed when I see in the tv the nuns and the people from different walks of life joined arms and prayed the holy rosary together. That event really proved the power of prayers. It also showed that we Filipinos could make our country a better place to live in if we will be working hand and hand.

Remembering EDSA Revolution will never be the same without the democratic icon, Cory Aquino. She may have left us last year but her legacy, her courage and the love she had for our country will continue to inspire every Filipino as the next century unfolds.

Dreaming of You

Uncategorized No Comments »

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I’d stay up and think of you
And I’d wish on a star
That somewhere you are thinking of me too

Cuz I’m dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming about you and me

Wonder if you even see me
And I wonder if you know I’m there
If you looked in my eyes
Would you see what’s inside?
Would you even care?

I just wanna hold you close
But so far, all I have are dreams of you
So, I wait for the day and the courage to say
How much I love you(Yes, I do)

I’ll be dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming about you and me

Ahhh…I can’t stop dreaming of you
Ahhh…I can’t stop dreamin

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I’d stay up and think of you
And I still can’t believe that you came up to me
And said, “I love you; I love you too”

Now I’m dreaming with you tonight
Till tomorrow, and for all of my life
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Then here in my room,
Dreaming with you endlessly…

Another week is Over!

Uncategorized Comments Off

I am still here in the office taking advantage of the net (wehehehe!!!). Well, another week is over and I am really happy that it’s my rest days again. As always, work has been very stressful. But God continous to help me and inspire me. I know that He knows that I need to be patient and need to work hard. He knows that I have a lot of obligations on my shoulder, especially to my family. I know that He doesn’t want me to quit that’s why He always assures me that He is there for me.

I’ll keep hanging on to you, Lord. I know that You alone is my strength, my shield.

We should always keep our faith, God will never let us down. :)

Nonet @ Four

Little Antoinette, Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Last October 28 (2009), my daughter celebrated her 4th birthday. Wow! I cannot imagine how time passed so fast! ? I remember the day when I learned that I was pregnant. The first person I called to break the news about my pregnancy was my best friend. I was in Lucena then to meet ney when I had my pregnancy test. It’s so nice to look back and reminisce the things I went through before I gave birth to Nonet.

On her 4th birthday, I bought her cake from Goldilocks. I brought her along when I bought the cake. My mother cooked spaghetti, fried chicken and lumpiang shanghai. We didn’t have any party at all. It was just a small feast with family. Antoinette was so happy especially when she blew her cake. ?

I wish and pray that my daughter will grow up healthy and strong. I pray that she would grow up a fine woman, and would finish school. I do not come from a wealthy family, I do not have much money to give her when I’m gone, but I would see to it that she would survive life’s challenges when the time comes for me to leave her.

This week is my 4th week in transition queue here at Dell. So far, well, it is really tiring and stressful. Maybe I am not used to my new world yet. I always pray that God bless me at work and that I will do good here. I know that He is always there to guide and support me. I know that God gave me this work and I know that I will be able to make it here. (Well, hopefully! :) )
