My First Chuck!

fashion, It's my Life No Comments »

Converse is one of the leading brands of snickers, I guess around the globe. I am not really a fan of rubber shoes or snickers. I am more comfortable of wearing sandals, doll shoes and pumps. I had rubber shoes when I was in high school because of our PE, which I used until second year in college for my PE class. Since it has served me for long years, I had it retired. :(

I only got another pair of snickers when I was already working. My friends asked me to join them in playing badminton one day after work. I decided to join them. I was wearing jeans and boots. The lady in the gym didn’t allow me to play because I am not wearing the appropriate attire. My boots may also cause me harm as I run after the shuttle cock. Since my friends like me to join them, they had bought a pair of snickers from a nearby “ukay-ukay.” :) I was accompanied by my friend Mot-mot in getting one. :) It was like 5 years ago and I still have the said pair.

When I was in college, my friends Arlene and May (whom I miss a lot), love to wear Converse’ Chuck Taylor. Every year, Converse will hold its annual Sale at SM Mega Mall’s Mega Trade Hall. I remember going to the said sale with them twice or thrice. I just love looking at shoes at 70% off. Since, I am not fan or maybe I don’t have enough money to buy, I just go there to accompany them and share the happiness they felt when they found Chuck at low prices! :) Well, I remember buying a pair of socks, a cap and a T-Shirt for my father at one time for as Christmas presents. :)

It’s been a while since I have been in the said sale. I have graduated from college in 2003. Well, t has been a long while actually. :)

Last December 2012, Converse held its annual Sale again. I told my sister Pauline and she was actually delighted. She is a big fan of Chuck Taylor. The day of the sale came and we went there as early as 10AM. She was really excited. We decided to split and had our ways in checking the shoes. I do not have intention to buy one for me but I will buy a pair for Nonet. She prefers to wear rubber shoes and snickers instead of doll shoes and sandals. Oh yeah! We’re opposite! Hehehe! :)

After an hour, I received a text message from Pau. She’s looking for me for she couldn’t decide what to get. She actually has 5 pairs in our basket! The price of each pair cost around Php 1200. It’s a good buy actually. She was able to find new stocks. I told Pau, that every year Converse hold a sale. I asked her to just get two pairs. She decided to get a pink and a green. I found a blue high-cut for Nonet. Pau told me to buy one for myself. Since, she is done; she helped me find something that would fit me (and will look good on me).

Believe it or not, I have tried on 10 pairs! Different styles and different colors but nothing seems to fit me. :( Pau then said to just forget about it. Chuck Taylor is not for me. When we headed our way to the cashier, a pair of white Chucks caught my eyes. White is “safe” color. I thought I can wear it with any shirt color. I tried in on and voila! It fits and it was really comfortable. I didn’t imagine that I would want to wear snickers as an everyday wear. But now that I have tried it, I guess I know now the reasons why people from different walks of life enjoy wearing Chuck Taylor. :)

This year, we would watch for another Converse Sale in December and we will definitely be there. :)

Halloween Party @ OLRLC

fashion, Feast and Festivities, Little Antoinette No Comments »

The school where Nonet goes held their Halloween Party last October 26, 2011. Every student were asked to wear a costume and parents are requested to bring candies, chocolates and cookies for the children. I would like to wear Nonet a Cinderella gown and with a crown and a glass shoes (if we can find one). But, knowing my daughter, she wouldn’t wear it. My friend Manoline gave her a Wizard hat when she was around 3 years old. So, instead of Cinderella costume, we decided to make her a she-wizard! :) Which she really loved actually! :)

My aunt is a dressmaker so we didn’t have a hard time finding a costume for her. We searched EK’s wizard outfit in the Internet and showed it to my Tita Evelyn. My mother looked for a violet and a yellow “retaso” from my tita’s stuff. My mother cut out stars from the yellow cloth. Then she saw it on the wizard’s robe that my tita made. :)

The costume turned out to be outstanding. :) I also asked her to make a foot sock for Nonet but we ran out of cloth already. I bought Nonet a wand to complete the outfit. :)

She didn’t win the best dress award though but she really did enjoy the party. :) This will be her last year in the said pre-school. I didn’t have any regret in sending her in Our Lady of the Rosary Learning Center for she learned a lot from it. Most of all, her Catholic faith is enriched and cultivated. :)

I would always be grateful to Teacher Elhay Guirnalda, Teacher Evelyn Santos, Teacher Nene Vitor and Teacher Christy Ramos.

God bless you all! :)

The Royal Brides

Since I am not over yet with the recent royal wedding, I did a little research on the British royal brides over the years. Catherine’s wedding gown has been a top secret until her wedding day and so I took the liberty of checking on the different wedding gowns worn by British royal brides on their wedding day, starting with the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons :)

Check this out!

Wardrobe Raid

My youngest sister Pauline will have their class outing in Laguna today. Last night as she prepared for today’s trip, she checked on my closet and look for something that she could wear as hip hop clothes! As far as I know, I do not have any clothes like, but her creativity came out and she was able to dress up hip hop. She’s a third year Broadcast Communication student and her talent and creative skills really fit her course. She enjoys her course so much. :)

We told her to enjoy but be very careful.

God bless their trip!

A Gift of Thanks

I was fixing my “abubots” this morning and I found a watch that was sent to me by one of my customers in my previous job. I worked with her in fixing her computer and making sure it connects to the Internet. She is very happy and delighted with a service I rendered her and as sign of gratitude, she sent me a watch from all the way from Jamaica, New York!

In her letter, she said that she really appreciate my patience and enjoyed working with me fix her computer. She even mentioned that if I would be able to pass New York someday, I could just give her a call and she would tour me around Jamaica, New York.

Well, being a tech support is not as easy as others may think of. But, being a support agent is a very fulfilling job especially if you hear the happy voices of your customers! :)

New Wrist Watch?

fashion, lifestyle No Comments »

The summer season can be felt already. In fact, it’s summer already. It is still my restday from work today and I have thought of going to the mall with my daughter. Just to chill for a while. Anyway, I got a little lazy so I just spend my day watching movies in DVDs and cleaning my PC with unnecessary files.

I then fixed my cabinet where I am keeping my accessories and wrist watches. I have a couple of wrist watches. Currently I am only using the one given to me by ney, couple of years ago. It looks old but it still dependable. How I love looking at them! :)

Ofcourse, it will be very nice to see your watch collections with one of those Hublot Big Bang! (Hopefully, someday I ’ll be able to buy one! :) )

Fashion and Comfort

fashion, It's my Life 2 Comments »

I fixed my cabinet today and take the clothes that doesn’t fit me anymore. My mom always tell me to dress up well when reporting to work. Oh well, I am not the type of person whom someone can call “fashionable”. I am happy wearing jeans and shirt. Sometimes, I wear casual blouses with matching what I can say “beautifeel shoes”, something that is fashionable yet comfortable. :)
