Easter Vigil Mass

Feast and Festivities Add comments

Since Nonet was chosen to be one of the angels in Salubong, to be held at the early dawn of Easter Sunday, my mother gave way for me to attend the Easter Vigil Mass. Easter Vigil mass is held on the evening of Black Saturday. This is also the third day of the Triduum prayer. I am glad that I was able to complete Triduum prayer again. :)

The Easter Vigil Mass started with the blessing of the fire that will light the Pascal Candle. It is also the longest mass ever! Before singing, “Lualhati sa Diyos”, there had been 4 readings and 4 Psalms. My sister Patty said that the readings used to be six. It was actually been reduced to four. Well, I cannot recall anymore. She said that one of the readings include, the big flood happened in Noah’s time.

My heart is truly filled with joy when the church’s lights are turned on and when the choir starts singing Lualhati sa Diyos. The sound of the drums added to the beat which proclaims Jesus’ triumph against death. :)

It was really a night of joy and celebration.

Thank you Lord.

Ciao! :)
