Where were you when EDSA Revolution happened?

It is the 25th year anniversary of EDSA Revolution on February 25, 2011. Twenty-five years since the legendary People Power revolution dethroned the Marcos’ from power. It was also then whent the first woman president of the Philippines was declared. :)

I was only five years old when the revolution happened. I didn’t have any idea of what was going on then. What I knew was I love watching “tora-tora” from the roof of our neighbor’s then. I was with my kuya-kuyahan watching the clear sky of February. Little did I know that a historical event is taking place somewhere along the corner of Ortigas Avenue and Highway 54. Well, I didn’t even know those places then. What amused me was the fast flying aircraft that flew above the sky. I remember kuya Mike and kuya Nomer lent me their telescope so I could see a good view of the tora-tora. :) Then, the next thing I learned was the Philippines has a new president. The first woman president ever, the late president Corazon C. Aquino. Everybody then was crying and thanking God for a successful, peaceful and prayerful revolution.

Many countries have adopted the said people power of the Philippines. Looking back, there had been 2 more EDSA revolutions that followed. One of which made the 13th president of the Philippines, Joseph Ejercito stepped down from his position, while Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo took the place.

Well, I hope that there will be no more EDSA revolutions to follow. Let us join hand in hand in praying for our country, for one another and for our leaders. And, we should never forget that EDSA People Power Revolution was a successful one not because of armours and high-powered guns, but because of flowers and prayers! :)
