Use those Coupons!

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

I have mentioned in my previous posts to spend your money wisely especially during this time of the year. I was talking to my sister last night about the gifts that we will be giving to our nephews and nieces in Quezon. We have a tight budget this year and we really need to plan on the gifts that we will be wrapping for those children. I was browsing the planner that my sister’s bestfriend gave me on my birthday and found interesting coupons from it! :)

I checked on the expiration date of the said coupons and they are about to expire this year! It’s a good thing that I stumbled on them before they finally expire. I can actually use those coupons to buy gifts for those people on my list!

Using coupon is also a practical way of saving. You may find coupons from newspapers, magazines and even websites! :)

Spend Money Wisely!

lifestyle No Comments »

I just received an email this morning from my team manager that our 13th month pay will be given this week! Wow! I am very excited. :) I also received a message that the Grolier’s Scholastic sale would be this coming December, too.

I believe that many people would agree that Christmas holiday is a time when people gets to have a lot of money! Oh yeah, bonuses and nth month pay. That’s  why you’ll find Sale and bargains and baratilo’s everywhere. It’s very tempting to spend and spend money. Who would not agree that shopping really makes someone feels good! :)

Well, as a piece of advice, I believe that it is time for us to spend our money wisely. I must admit that I was once an impulsive buyer. As I grow older, I learned to spend my money on things that are worth buying and those that are Best Buy! I am proud to say that I learned to control myself and maybe because I have really become a wiser and responsible person. Yey! :)

It is not bad to spend money and enjoy the fruit of your labors! However, we should also remember that today wouldn’t be the last day that we’ll eat or spend, we still have tomorrow to save for. :)

A season of SALE

lifestyle No Comments »

I never realized that Christmas is just behind the corner.  How time flies so fast they said. Christmas is my favorite season of the year. I like it more than my own birthday. :)

People become nicer and generous during the Christmas season! To top it all tiangge and baratillos are scattered everywhere! Oh this what I love during Christmas season. My Internet is not working at home that’s why I wasn’t able to update you very often. But, I am working on it. I am hoping that I will be able to make it work again this weekend.

Anyway, I really took a time off and visit the nearest Internet cafe to give you an information about the different toy sales I visited last week. One toy sale is in Eastwood City. It’s Toy Town’s Toy Sale! It will run up until January 2, 2011. The store opens at 11AM and closes at around 11PM if my recollection of the schedule is correct. There are lots of toys to choose from! The toys they offer are not only for child ones but for those young at heart, too! :)

Another toy warehouse sale I was able to scout is along Monarch St. near Eastwood City, too.  Well, I guess that’s what it is called.  The warehouse schedule is November 26, 27 and 28; December 3-5, 10-12, 17-22. The store opens at around 10AM and closes at 6PM I believe. :) I would like to remind you that this warehouse toy sale only accepts cash as mode of payment. While Toy Town’s toy sale accepts credit card too. :)

I really love to buy toys and wrap them and give them to my godchildren and to my nieces and nephews. However, I have to attend to more important things first. Though I would really save something to buy those children some gifts. :)

Well, we would probably bump into each other in one of these toys sale soon! Enjoy!

A Reunion???

family No Comments »

My sister Patty, my cousin Joy and our aunt, Tabibe went to Quezon last November 1 for Undas 2010. My paternal grandparents are both gone as well as two of their eldest sons. Their remains are buried in a little cemetery in our town in Quezon. I would love to go, but papa’s remains is buried in Pasig City’s cemetery. My father’s siblings except for Tabibe are living in Quezon. So, when Tabibe arrives with her other nieces, it’s like a family reunion is held. :)

The picture above was taken at Tita Len’s house. Tabibe stays at her place whenever she pays a visit there. When my cousins learned that Tabibe arrives, they flock together at Tita Len’s house. :)

This is the next generation of Amandy Family. Too bad Nonet wasn’t there to bond with her cousins.

Well, I hope one day that all of Antoinette’s maternal cousins will visit Manila so that they can spend sometime playing with my daughter at Tom’s World.

I am pretty sure too that Yves will get amazed again with the new metal buildings that weren’t there since his last visit her.

We are planning to spend a 3 or 4-day vacation in May next year. That is in time of the barangay fiesta. I hope that the plan will push through. :)

A Letter to Juliet

It's my Life No Comments »

I didn’t know if it was just a coincidence that I have watched Letters to Juliet and had a fight with ney on the same day. Yesterday was Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Antonio Margariot. Since ney is in Kuwait, he will not be able to watch the boxing event. I didn’t have any paperview subscription either to watch it live. One of my neighbors was listening over the radio that broadcasts live happening in the said boxing event. When Pacquiao won, I sent a text message to ney about it. To my surprise, he got mad because I have not been so kind to provide him a live feed! OMG! If only he’s here I should have turned my back on him already. I really got mad. :(

As I am working on my post about the movie, Letters to Juliet, a thought came to me about what will I write Juliet if I am given a chance to visit Verona and drop by her casa. Ney and I have been together for 6 years. We have a 5-year old daughter but we’re not married yet due to different complications.

About 6 years ago, our relationship was full of love and affection. I was happy. :( I didn’t mind all the complications our relationship because I am happy. Well, I was.

They say that people change, love fades. I do not want to give up on love. However, sometimes, I come to realize and to thank God for the complications we have in our relationship. Because I am not bind to matrimony yet. At this point I do not know if that will ever happen still. It is not because I do not love ney anymore, but maybe because, love is really just not enough to sustain a relationship. Love is not the only recipe to keep a relationship strong. Love is not enough to make a relationship grow.

If I would be given a chance to visit Verona, I guess I would ask Juliet how to obtain the courage to stand for my own happiness without hurting other people.  :(

I wonder how the secretaries of Juliet would respond to my letter…

Ciao! :)

Letters to Juliet

movies 1 Comment »

We watched Letters to Juliet this Sunday morning on DVD. At first, I didn’t want to watch the movie for I thought that it was one of the books written by Nicholas Sparks. I have nothing against Nicholas, it’s just that, when I watch a certain film I want something that will provide relaxation and not a teary eye in the end. :)

Well, my two younger sisters insisted to watch it and so, I didn’t have any choice but to watch with them. Amanda Seyfried is one of the lead stars of the said movie. Most of the scenes were shot in Italy. Oh, how I love the scenery in Italy! Added to it are the lovely a designer furniture they offer! :) . Well, Sophie and her fiance’, Victor would supposedly have a pre-honeymoon trip in Verona, Italy. However, it turned out to be more on a business trip for Victor who will be opening an Italian restaurant in New York.

While Victor is away for a business trip, Sophie came accross a house which is called Casa di Giulietta. The house is claimed to be the Capulet’s. Below the famous balcony, is a wall called Juliet’s Wall, where letters are stick from different woman and girls in Italy and from those who purposely visit the place to send their letters about love to Juliet.

Sophie found a letter that was stuck into one of the walls stones. It was written about 50 years ago. The letter is read as:

I didn’t go to him, Juliet. I didn’t go to Lorenzo. His eyes were so full of trust I promised I’d meet him and run away together because my parents don’t approve. But, instead, I left him waiting for me below our tree – waiting and wondering where I was. I’m in Veronoa now. I return to London in the morning and I am so afraid. Please, Juliet tell me what I should do. My heart is breaking and I have no one else to turn to. Love, Claire

Since, Sophie found the letter, somehow she is obliged to reply to it. She knew that her letter might not reach the hands of Claire. However, she believed that it is still worth trying. She wrote to Claire as secretary of Juliet:

Dear Claire, What and If are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don’t know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it’s never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn’t it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart. I don’t know what a love like Juliet’s feels like – love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for but I’d like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I will have the courage to seize it. And, Claire, if you didn’t, I hope one day that you will. All my love, Juliet

To cut the beautiful movie short, Claire was able to find and married her Lorenzo after 50 years with the help of Sophie. Sophie ended up in the arms of Claire’s grandson, Charlie. :)

It was really a beautiful movie. A love story that would definitely inspire many people to love and never give up on love. :)

You bet, it’s now one of my favorite movies. :)

Go the Distance

songs of my life No Comments »

It has been another week. My team mate Lav is one of the semi-finalists in the Dell Idol singing competition we have in the office. Our team watched her perform and she did a good job! :) A day before the competition, I asked what song she’s going to sing. She said that it’s going to be Go the Distance of Michael Bolton. However, she will be doing the cover version of Regine Velasquez.

Go the distance is the music theme of the Disney movie Hercules. I have loved the song since I heard the cover version of Lea Salonga. :)

The song inspires us to be strong as we journey through life. That we can turn our dreams into reality, as long as we have faith and we do not step on somebody else. Enjoy!

I have often dreamed of a far off place
Where a hero’s welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I’m meant to be

I’ll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know every mile, will be worth my while
When I go the distance, I’ll be right where I belong

Down an unknown road to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I’ll see it through

And I won’t look back, I can go the distance
And I’ll stay on track, no, I won’t accept defeat
It’s an uphill slope, but I won’t lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero’s strength is measured by his heart

Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I don’t care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my hero’s welcome, waiting in your arms

A Very Tiring Day

Work Stuff No Comments »

Just got home from the office. It’s the start of the week and I really had a busy day. I have to attend to so many cases. I don’t know why I am getting so much cases everyday. Maybe because I am too good and to gullible to attend to my customer’s issues. Being a customer care and technical support can be very challenging. At the end of the day you wpuld find yourself stuck with so many cases and complains. Yet it is very fulfilling to hear their appreciation when their concern is addressed.

I guess the reason why I get so tired of work is because I am not getting enough help from my support group. Sometimes, I asked myself whether the problem is me or him. Sometimes I really wanted to argue with him, confront him and yell at him. But, I am not that kind of person, in the end I would just find myself crying because of the treatment I receive from him.

Well, I love what I am doing (so far…). I have enough reasons to go to work everyday. I just pray and keep on praying that God would bless me with kind heart and wisdom.

I hope you have a better day than I am. I am praying for a better day tomorrow. God bless uis all!

Ciao! :)

A Place to Retire

lifestyle No Comments »

The beach water provides me a calm and comforting feeling. When I retire many years from now, I really love to live in a house by the beach. Since I am still young and working, I also wanted to own a house and lot near the city. Well, it’s my mother who wanted to have one. She wanted to have a garden and yard. She said that if we have our own yard, we can adopt cats and dogs already.

When I went to the market last week, I took a side trip to Camella Cerritos East. I loved the model house Marvela. It is single detach and there is enough area that can be used as a little garden. The agent toured me around the house, and I really fell in love with it. The model house has furniture set. I love the bathroom vanity set in the model house! :)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I didn’t get surprise when the agent showed me a sample computation. The house cost around PhP4.6M! The agent said that it’s the lot that made the house costly. Well, I understand that. The house is located within the city, and the facilties are just few minutes away from it.

Well, I know for a fact that the house and lot that we can afford could be somewhere in Cavite or Antipolo. My sisters and I are still scouting for a house and lot that we can afford and yet still close enough to our work place.

Who knows the numbers I have for the lottery would be lucky enough to be drawn, I would be able to own one of those houses then. :)

Little Antoinette No Comments »

I took a 3-day vacation leave from work to spend quality time with my daughter. You bet, we really had a lot of fun! :) Since daddy is not here to celebrate with us, Antoinette’s 5th birthday, I see to it that my daughter will really enjoy her special day. :)

I am thankful to God for sending me “human angels” that made Antoinette’s birthday a special one. Their last day at school before the semestral break was October 27. Her birthday is October 28. We had a little treat for her classmates on the 27th. Then in the afternoon, we visited St. Pio’s Chapel in Libis Quezon City where we offered prayer, flowers and lit candles.

The following day, she accompanied me in buying her birthday cake. I told my mom to cook spaghetti late in the afternoon. I decided to celebrate the birthday feast in the evening for dinner already. :)

At noon, we heard mass at Edsa Shrine. The church is air-conditioned and the mass was really solemn, that my daughter almost fell asleep. Hehehe! We had our lunch at KFC then we headed to Tom’s World. I let her play every game she wanted to. I really wanted the day to be unforgettable for her. :)

I don’t remember how much tokens we have used. When I felt that she’s tired, I took her to Austin Land to relax. Austin Land is part of Tom’s World in Galleria as well. :)

When Auntie Tina arrived, we shopped for Nonet’s clothes and shoes and few toys. She really enjoyed her day! :)

In the evening, Antoinette blew her birthday cake’s candles. Our family enjoyed the extra food we have on our table and wishes Antoinette good health and bright future ahead. I love you anak. :)

Happy Birthday Day Antoinette!

Antoinette, may have come to me in an unexpected time. I may not have been prepared to have a baby then, but I am thankful to God for giving me my daughter. She really turned my world around. With God’s help, I believe that I will be able to raise her as a fine lady. :)

God bless you anak!
