Nonet Wore a Saya :)

History, Little Antoinette Add comments

In celebration of Linggo ng Wika, my daughter’s school had a program about it. I was so thankful to my area manager, Ma’am Richee for allowing me to be on half day last Friday. :) It was my daughter’s first performance and I wanted to see it. It was raining hard last Friday that the school officials decided to hold the program inside one of the school’s classrooms.

My aunt Evelyn is a dressmaker and she has some extra cloths that she can make Antoinette’s costume. :) I helped my mother look for a printed cloth that can be made into Nonet’s skirt or saya, and a lace to for her kimona. :) We found pink printed cloth, which was made into her skirt and a nice lace for her tops. Mama bought her pair of native slippers to go with her costume. :)

I bought puto or rice cake for the feast after the program. The kinder students declaimed, “Ang Batang Munti” and they danced to the tune of “Sampung Mga Daliri”. They kids were all well applauded. :)

I am so proud of my little girl! :) The performance was not as perfect as the teachers would have wanted it to be. However, the very cute children made the performance a pleasing one!

I know that the said show would only be the first of many more. Antoinette is only at kinder, and I know that she will be doing more performances as she step on elementary. Well that’s going to be 2 years from now!

God bless her!

Ciao! :)
