Prayer for Rain

O God, in Whom we live and move, and have our being, grant us rain, in due abundance, that, being sufficiently helped with temporal, we may the more confidently seek after eternal gifts. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer Source: Novena in Honor of St. Isidore: Patron of Farmers by National Catholic Rural Life Conference, National Catholic Rural Life Conference

The Oratio Imperata ad Petendam Pluviam is to be prayed after Communion before the Post Communion Prayer:

God our loving Father, creator of our earth and of the universe, and all the wondrous elements of nature that sustain your living creatures, we humbly ask you to send us the rain that our country needs so badly at this time, to irrigate our fields, to stave off a power shortage, to provide water for our bodily health, and to refresh our parched lands. At your command the wind and the seas obey, raise your hand Almighty God to send us so that crisis may be averted.

Merciful and generous God, open our eyes to the richness and beauty of your creation and instill in us a deep love for this earth and all that is in and around it. Teach us to be wise stewards of your creation so that we may always use them responsibly and protect them from abuse and exploitation. At this time of crisis, dear Lord, move us to share more and to love more.

Loving God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you entrusted the Filipino people to the special care of Mary our Mother, listen to the prayers that we bring up to her, our Blessed Mother, to intercede for us, for the protection of our land and our people, whom she loves.

Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.

Saint Rose of Lima, pray for us.

Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

Let us all pray together for God to bless our country and the world with good rain.

Our Songs

songs of my life No Comments »

Ney and I have number of theme songs. Hehehe!!! I try to cheer up myself this afternoon (even though my mother is already calling out for me to go back to sleep) by looking for the videos and posting it to my site. Thanks to youtube and to all those who posted these videos there. Thanks guys. :)

‘Til I Met You is a song originally sang by Kuh Ledesma. Ney loves this song so much and he told me once, that this is his theme song for me. Sweet! :) Here it goes:

The Mask of Zorro’s theme song; I want to Spend my lifetime Loving You is also one of our songs. Ney said that this is one of our relationship’s theme song. It is song sang by Tina Arena and Marc Anthony.

If the song of Tina Arena and Marc Anthony is one of our relationship’s songs, the other one is an Original Pilipino Music. The song is entitled, “Ikaw lang ang Mamahalin” by Joey Albert.

These songs will keep ney and I strong and inspire us even if we would be miles away. God bless us!

Living on a Jet Plane

songs of my life No Comments »

This song is very memorable to me. I never thought that my heart will be singing this song again. :( In 1999, I sang this song during the barrio fiesta in Quezon. Ney played the drums while his elder brother, kuya Lyndon played the piano. I am listening to John Denver’s version of this song and I wasn’t able to hold my tears back. :( I am trying to conceal the pain that I am feeling but it is very hard. I know that I need to let go of that feeling and cry a river if I need to, to make me feel better. :(

Honey’s Going Abroad :(

It's my Life, relationship 1 Comment »

I woke up this afternoon because of numerous phone calls I received from ney. He is at a District LTO office in Quezon to request for LTO Certification for Red Ribbon in DFA. He will be working abroad as a heavy equipment operator. He applied for a passport last year (around August 2009 if I am not mistaken) because he really wanted to work abroad. His father and elder brother were both “ex-abroads” as he often calls them. He would want to work abroad, to prove that he can also be like his father and brother. They have their own construction company. But unlike other people who would want to work abroad for financial reasons, he just wanted a stamp on his passport and be an “ex-abroad” as well. :)

I have not done any red ribbon processing yet, that’s why I am not familiar with the process. I went online to check for the steps and told ney about it. His agency has been calling him already to get an update, because it is the only document that he needs to submit then he will leave. His visa arrived already, and as soon as he submits the LTO authenticated form, then he will leave. His tentative flight is next week. :(

Ney and I have been together for almost 6 years now. He is my first love and first boyfriend. We were separated in 1999 for some personal reasons and back on each other arms in 2004. We had gone through a lot of ups and downs. This may sound a cliche but our relationship has been a roller coaster ride. We do not live together because of work. We only see each other once or twice a month. This is the first time that he will go out of the country and we will not be seeing each other for 2 years. Oh, I will truly miss him. We have a lot of misunderstandings but when I think about him leaving and going abroad, I really tend to cry. :( My heart really aches. I wonder where I can get a protective clothing that I can have him bring.

I told ney to trust me and we will always keep in touch. I told him that I will write him letters. Send him text messages as often as I can. I told him to be careful always and be friendly. I talked to the agency staff and I was informed that he will be with Filipino colleagues. I hope and pray that he will be okay. I believe that God will take care of him.

Oh, I can feel the pain in my heart. But, I know that I need to be strong for him and for our relationship. Oh oh, I am crying… :(

Customer and Tech Rep

Work Stuff No Comments »

Our trainer Kat allowed us to take an hour and a half lunch break (so nice!). I’m taking advantage of this time as I wait for my colleague Judy to eat our lunch. Well, it’s 12:41 AM as I write this article. I mentioned in my team building post that it was my last team building as part of Oneil’s team. About 2 Mondays ago, my TSM was asking other tenured agents to be part of the company’s CSQ team. Agents in that team will handle both technical and customer care issues of the customer. It will be like an 2 in 1 agent. My other teammates then declined the position. When my tsm asked me to be part of it, of course I declined, too. It’s too early for me to be part of the said team. He told me that I have been getting customer commendations and SAT CEs, and so I am fit to be part of it. I tried to decline, but he keeps on asking me. To my irritation, I said yes. I never realize that he will take it seriously. :(

I was absent the following days because my sister, Patty was hospitalized due to bleeding. I informed my team manager that I will not be able to report for work due to her hospitalization. He said ok and told me that, I was one of the agents who will be on training for CSQ. :( I really felt sad about it. I felt like my tsm is driving me away from the team because of my outages. I was really hurt. I even cry. :( I replied to his text and said Ok. I didn’t try to decline anymore, because I already felt that he wanted me out of the team. :( I really felt bad about it. I have nothing against my tsm because he is really nice. He is a very kind person. But, he also needs to protect his team.

I attended our first training day with a heavy heart. I really felt unwanted. Unwanted because, there were other agents who should be in my position instead. :( But, I need to concentrate and listen attentively to my trainer because I need to perform well in my new team.

I was able to share this feeling with my friends in the office, and Mishie told me that my tsm taught that I wanted to be part of CSQ. She said that Oneil felt that I do not want him to be my tsm anymore. :( Well, I guess there had been misunderstanding there. I prayed and I believe that God has a purpose, why this happened. I trust God and I believe that He has better plans for me.

Today is our 5th day of training. Two more days and I will be back on the floor, this time as a Technical and Care representative all rolled into one. :) There are a lot of Care tools that we need to learn. In due time, I know that I will be able to master those tools.

At this point, I have already “moved on” (Hehehe!!!) from the sadness I went through because of the transfer. I am preparing myself to a new challenge. I believe I can do it. I know that I will be an effective Customer Care agent. God is there to help me.

I guess, time will come that I would thank Oneil for this opportunity. :)

Ciao! :)

Sleepless Nights!

Beauty and Health No Comments »

Well it is expected that I have sleepless nights because I work at night! Hehehe! Even if the company would have 24/7 support, and my previous team will have a fine schedule, I would stay in the night shift because of the additional support I would have. If only I can go back to my old team. :( Well, I’ll tell you about the transfer on another post. I really felt bitterness about it. Anyway, since my work sked is at night then I have to bear the noise and the hot weather of the morning. Sometimes, I really find it hard to get a good sleep in the morning. :(

When I bought my daughter a medicine, I found a pretty good sleeping pills that I can take if ever I experience difficulty in sleeping. I haven’t ask how much it would cost but I believe I can buy it even without prescription. Well, I hope so! I have not asked the pharmacist about it. :)

I know that I shouldn’t be dependent on pills. But if I believe that I can take one especially when I am in great need of good sleep. :)

A Visit to Los Baños

nature 2 Comments »

Thanks to our team mate Rico, we were able to tour around UP Los Baños and was able to take a glimpse of Mount Makiling. It took about 30 minutes to travel from Pansol to UPLB. We took the zigzag like road to UP. Dadi Rico (as we often call him) told us, that only private vehicles use the road we passed through. He also said that the said road is open up until 8PM only. I learned from him that UP Los Baños was established in 1909, a year after UP Dilimas was founded. There are some spots that we would want to visit like the Botanical Garden but it is under construction. Dadi Rico has been so kind to tour us around the campus instead. :) I really appreciate the wonderful nature that surrounds the campus. I learned that the Makiling Forest is already preserved. There are lots of stories and local folk tales with regard to Maria Makiling. The said goddess of the mountain. I’ll post the different versions of Maria Makiling folk tale on another post. :)

One of the places we visited while we were inside the campus is the National Art’s Center. I was really amazed with the different classrooms and cottages where the students are staying. I wasn’t able to take a picture of the classrooms. :( But, was able to get some good shots near the National Arts Center Pavilion with my friends.

Relaxing at an altitude of 300 feet!

We also passed by the different appartments and dorms of teachers and students. One of my colleagues (Baby) said that by the look of the dorms, it is really possible that there are “unseen” guests in the dorms. Well, the campus is already a hundred years old, it will not surprise me if Casper’s colleagues live there, too. Dadi Rico said that if we would really wanted to feel and witness some kind of “unusual activities” then, we can visit The Baker Hall. Baker Hall is one of the oldest remaining building in UP Los Baños. It was named named after former dean of the College of Agriculture, Charles Fuller Baker. It was said that during World War II, Americans and other citizens of the Allied nations were interned here. Well that could be the reason why there are many “mumu” in the hall.

We also passed by Girl and Boy Scout Jamboree site. I really enjoyed the trip! :) I really appreciate God’s creation in nature! I hope that we can still work together to preserve mother nature. :)

Being Online

Computer World No Comments »

When I am online and focus, my mother always asked if I am blogging. She knew very well that I love to write and express my ideas. I told her that I enjoy sharing my personal experiences to other people, hoping that they would somehow learn from my undertakings. My mother ask me one time if I would get tired of browsing and blogging, I told her, I don’t think so. :) She just grinned at me. Hehehe!!! Even my younger sisters and my daughter are PC and Internet fanatics! Well, my daughter just love playing Plants vs Zombies. :) My mother told us not to complain when we receive our monthly electric bill!

Well, it’s Patty who paid the electric bill so I won’t mind. Hehehe!!! :) As a write this article, mama then said that I should be part of some kind of internet affiliate program for being a net devotee! :)

I love browsing and surfing the net. Not only because I need to manage my online journal but, if you use the Internet the right way, then it you would really learn a lot of things. You can go from one place to another. One can shop, study and even work while at home using the Internet. The best of all, one can share his or her thoughts and insights about God. :)

I hope that you spend your time for online surfing and browsing effectively and productively. :)

Team Oneil @ Abiva

It's my Life, Places No Comments »

Our much awaited and planned team building has arrived! Well, it happened Saturday last week. After all the planning, it finally took place. After our Friday shift last week, we went directly to Pansol, Laguna. I joined my girl colleagues in Dadi Rico’s car. We had a stopped over somewhere in Laguna to buy green mangoes. Mishie bought us boiled corn. It was delicious. When we arrived at the private resort, our other team mates were already there. My team manager, rs and pao came in late. Well, Treb and Oneil waited for Paolo who’s shift ends at 9AM.

We had our lunch at around 12NN. We didn’t wait for our tsm to arrive for we’re already starving. Dadi Rico brought chicken and pork adobo. I served green mangoes and sauted bagoong which my mother cooked. Oh, the bagoong makes me drool!

After our lunch, Dadi Rico toured us around Los Baños. After our trip to LB, I fell asleep. I was very tired and sleepy. My friend Judy joined the team at around 8:30PM. Then, Treb and the guys, grilled some chicken and liempo for our dinner.

I dipped into the pool at around 11PM. The water came from Mount Makiling that’s why it’s kinda warm. I swam until 1AM. I really enjoyed the water. It gave us a relaxing and calming feeling.

Thy guys started drinking beer and wine in the afternoon. We also enjoyed the videoke. Well, I guess, my team manager, Oneil, enjoyed it the most! :)

We left the resort at around 10AM the following day. We really had a lot of fun. I was very happy then. I never realized that it would be my last team building as a member of Team Oneil. Anyway, I know that I am always welcome to join their upcoming team buildings. :)

Getting Rid of Pimples

Beauty and Health No Comments »

Of course, I always have sleepless nights! It’s not because I am going something but because I work at night. Though I am getting enough sleeo in the morning, it is still different if you get the sleep at night. Well, no wonder I am getting a lot of pimples again. I have been using different oinments to treat this pimples. But I still believe that the best treatment for acne is still getting enough and good sleep. :)

Keeping your face clean as much as possible is another way, too. My friend Judy also recommend the use of calamansi juice on your face. Well, I guess I have to deal with these alternatives to prevent pimples pop out of my face. I know that as long as I am working in the night shift, I will not be able to enjoy the night sleep. :(

Sunday Dancing

It's my Life, lifestyle 1 Comment »

It has been a while since I have updated my online journal. The past week had been very interesting. There had been fun, sadness and heartaches. But I guess all those are part of our lives that would make us stronger, wiser and better person.

I woke early today. Well, I am starving that’s why! :) I wasn’t able to eat dinner last night for I was very sleepy. Oh yeah very sleepy. I guess I was sleeping from 4:30PM yesterday then I woke up at around 11PM only to pee. ? Then I slept again from 11PM to 5:30AM today. The weather is very hot. We even rolled up the curtains and open the bedroom windows but we’re still perspiring. The apartment we live in is old and the owner will not allow us to install an a/c unit. :)

I was the first one to wake up. I cooked the rice and sauté the canned tuna we have on stock. I ate breakfast at around 6AM. My hunger is satiated! :)

Then, I turned on the radio and played my CD of Dance. Oh well, I am not a good dancer like my younger sisters but I love to dance! Hehehe!!! My mother told me that it’s about time that I start losing weight. She said that I get bigger and bigger. Hmmm, guess she’s right. I am not sure if I would be able to go back to the same size I was before getting pregnant and giving birth. Gosh, I really gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant!

I danced to the tunes of 80’s dance. I am familiar anymore with the latest grooves today. I love dancing Cha-cha and Swing. It’s tiring and I was sweating but I loved it! :)

Ciao! :)
