A day with Sam and Antoinette

Little Antoinette No Comments »

My sister’s goddaughter, Samantha spent the weekend in our house. Well, Sam grew up with us. In fact, I was the one who gave her, her second name which is Franchesca. My sister Patty even scolded me then with regard to the second name’s spelling. She said it should have been “Francesca” but still pronounced as “Franchesca”. I told her that I know that it would have been spelled that way, but it would be like a many others. I want it to be unique in a way. :)

My daughter and Sam played together and enjoyed each other company. We heard mass at around 9:30AM and told the girls that Patty and I will treat them to Jollibee. I told my sister that instead of going to the said fast food beside the church, that we should bring the kids to the mall. My daughter is as restless as she always been while Sam, who is 2 years older than Antoinette is more lady like already. While still in the mass, I told Antoinette to behave like Sam.

After the mass, we headed our way to the mall. Oh, they were very excited! :) Since the mass ended at around 10:45AM, we arrived at the mall at 11AM. It’s just a good time for an early lunch. :) I placed the order to the counter, while Patty looked after the children. We were all full after the lunch. Yummy!!! :)

We brought the kids to Tom’s World and let them play. If Patty and I didn’t asked them that we need to go, maybe they would be using more than 20 tokens! Oh, they love it! I love playing at Tom’s World, too. Hehehe!!! :)

After, Tom’s World, we went to the grocery store. We put them into the cart that we will use. Having the kids on the cart, it already been heavy to push. :) We finished the grocery and arrived home at 1PM already.

Sam and Antoinette were very happy. Sam told her Ninang Patty that she would always spend the weekend with us. Well, Sam is always welcome. She is in fact part of the family. I am looking forward to another weekend with her. I know that it would be more fun for it is her Ninang Patty’s payday this coming Friday! :)

Ciao! :)

Good Morning!

It's my Life No Comments »

It’s Monday again. How fast the day flies. :) Later this evening I would be reporting for work again. Hopefully, it will be a good day; a good day to start the week with. I hope that I will be able to manage my AHT because it is really suffering. Well, I guess I am used to performing comprehensive troubleshooting steps to resolve a certain computer or networking problem. That’s why I always end up sacrificing my AHT. In any case, though my AHT suffers, I feel good and fulfilled whenever I manage to solve a problem. :) But, my RS and my Team Manager are calling me out already, so I still need to work on it.

Speaking of my team manager, he will be on leave for the whole week for he will undergo a certain surgery. He mentioned what kind of surgery it would be, but I don’t remember anymore. The medical term is not that easy to remember. Well, I hope and pray that whatever operation he will undergo this week, it would be a successful one. :)

Before anything else, let me tell you what happened to me this weekend and hopefully you would learn from it, as I do.

Ciao! :)

Food for thought: As Within, So Without

Something Good No Comments »

Aristotle said that the ultimate aim or purpose or human life is to achieve your own happiness. You are the very happiest when what you are doing on the outside is congruent with your values on the inside. When you are living in complete alignment with that which you consider to be good, right, and true, you will automatically feel happy and positive about yourself and your world.

Know What You Really Want
Stephen Covey once said, “Be sure that, as you scramble up the ladder of success, it is leaning against the right building.” Many people work hard to achieve goals that they think they want only to find, at the end of the day, they get no joy or satisfaction from their accomplishments. They ask, “Is this all there is?” This occurs when the outer accomplishment is not in harmony with your inner values. Don’t let this happen to you.

Trust Your Intuition
Self-trust is the foundation of greatness. Self-trust comes from listening to your intuition, to your “still, small voice” within. Men and women begin to become great when they begin to listen to their inner voices and absolutely trust that they are being guided to a higher power each step of the way. Living in alignment with your true values is the royal road to self-confidence, self-respect, and personal pride. In fact, almost every human problem can be resolved by returning to values.
Watch Your Behavior
How can you tell what your values really are? The answer is simple. You always demonstrate your true values in your actions and especially your actions under pressure. Whenever you are forced to choose between one behavior and another you will always act consistent with what is most important and valuable to you at that moment. Values, in fact, are organized in a hierarchy. You have a series of values, some of them very intense and important and some of them weaker and less important. One of the most important exercises you can engage in to determine who you really are and what you really want is to organize your values by priority. Once you are clear about the relative important of your values, you can then organize your outer life so that it is in alignment with them.

Determine Your Heart’s Desire
The spiritual teacher Emmet Fox wrote about the importance of discovering your “heart’s desire.” What is your heart’s desire? As a friend of mine asks, “What do you want to be famous for?” What words would you like people to use to describe you when you are not there? What would you like someone to say about you at your funeral? What kind of reputation do you have today? What kind of reputation would you like to have sometime in the future?

Your Past is Not Your Future
Many people had difficult experiences growing up. They fell on hard times and became associated with the wrong people. Some were convicted and sent to prison for crimes. But at a certain point in life, they decided to change. They thought seriously about what kind of person they wanted to be known as, and thought of, in the future. They decided to change their lives by changing the values that they lived by. By making these decisions and sticking to them, they changed their lives. Remember, it doesn’t matter where you’re coming from; all that really matters is where you’re going.

Action Exercise
Describe your picture of an ideal person, the person you would most want to be if you had no limitations.

Another week is Over!

Uncategorized Comments Off

I am still here in the office taking advantage of the net (wehehehe!!!). Well, another week is over and I am really happy that it’s my rest days again. As always, work has been very stressful. But God continous to help me and inspire me. I know that He knows that I need to be patient and need to work hard. He knows that I have a lot of obligations on my shoulder, especially to my family. I know that He doesn’t want me to quit that’s why He always assures me that He is there for me.

I’ll keep hanging on to you, Lord. I know that You alone is my strength, my shield.

We should always keep our faith, God will never let us down. :)

May your life be a light for the World

All About Faith, Something Good No Comments »

While I am fixing my books on our shelf this morning, I found a pocketbook which I bought about 2 years ago. It is called, the Private Prayers of Pope John Paul II. Pope John Paul II was the most beloved Pope in our generations. When he first visits the country February, 1981, my mother was still pregnant me then. She remembered running along the streets of Quezon City circle where the pope mobile carrying him will pass by. She also told me that if I would have been born a boy, she would name me after him.

I personally seen his holiness during the 1995 World Youth Day. It was a different kind of happiness seeing him. That’s why I really felt sad when he died. :(

I went through the pages of book and my attention was caught by a certain topic which is entitled: May your Life be a Light of the World. I hope that this will make a difference to everybody who will be able read it.

The words of Jesus are valid for you in a very special way: “Let your light shine so before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Yes brothers and sisters! the light of your faith shines bright; the light of your chastity joyfully; the light of your poverty generously!

How much the Church and the world need this light, this testimony! How deeply we must commit ourselves, so that its full splendor and its utter eloquence may be realized!

How essential it is that we reproduce in ourselves, mortal beings, the mystery of the Christ’s devotion to the Father for the salvation of the world: the miraculous devotion that began with the presentation in the temple, whose memory the whole Church celebrates today.

How essential it is that we, too, fix our gaze on the soul of Mary, on the soul that, according to the words of Simeon, would be pierced by a sword so the thoughts of many hearts might be revealed. (February 2, 1980).

New Baby is Coming

motherhood No Comments »

I, Daisy and Ime were very happy when we learned that our dear friend Pinky is going to have a baby! :) It is true what they say about babies being the bundle of joy to every family. We haven’t seen Pinky for a long time and she said that she is due on the 3rd week of January.  Well, it would be very soon!!! We are planning to visit her one of this days and I bet that Pinky got already some modern furniture for her baby. :)

I remember when I learned that I was carrying a baby. It was mixed emotions, then! :) I was happy and excited to have a baby, but scared that I may not be able to be a good mother. Well, my mother played a big role to what I become. I may say that so far, I have been a good mother to my little girl. :)

We are still yet to set a date as to when we will pay her a visit. I am really excited to see her. She said that she really gained weight. :)

I just hope and pray that Pinky would have a safe delivery and that she would deliver a healthy baby. God bless them! :) We’ll see her soon.

What Can I Do..

lyric sheet No Comments »

I was chatting with my bestfriend Daisy the other day and were talking about some women stuff, and she caught me off the hook! :) Well, I guess she does know me so well. :) I was entertaining myself yesterday by singing through our midi player and I just wanted to post this song by the Corrs! :)

What Can I Do to Make you Love Me!

I haven’t slept at all in days
It’s been so long since we’ve talked
And I have been here many times
I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong

What can I do to make you love me
What can I do to make you care
What can I say to make you feel this
What can I do to get you there

There’s only so much I can take
And I just got to let it go
And who knows I might feel better
If I don’t try and I don’t hope

What can I do to make you love me
What can I do to make you care
What can I say to make you feel this
What can I do to get you there

No more waiting, No more aching
No more fighting, No more trying

Maybe there’s nothing more to say
And in a funny way I’m calm
Because the power is not mine
I’m just gonna let it fly

What can I do to make you love me
What can I do to make you care
What can I say to make you feel this
What can I do to get you there

Love me..

Bes, I am really fighting it hard.. :(

My Dream Car

It's my Life No Comments »

To others it may sound “not really a dream car”. Because when you say dream, it is something that you have wanted and have imagined to have all your life. Well, I wasn’t born to a wealthy family. And I have ride on a public vehicle all my life. I love to travel and go from one place to another with my family. Therefore, if I will be asked what my dream car would be, then it is Hyundai’s Starex Van.

Oh I really love that one! :). I wonder how much an auto insurance quote for Starex would cost this day. :) Well, I hope I will be able to get one of those vans any moment soon. :)

God Answered Prayer

Reflections of Heart and Soul, Something Good 1 Comment »

In spite of the many problems, we face everyday, we should not forget that God listens and answers our prayers. Part of my metrics in Dell is total solutions, in other words, we have to make a sale and we need to meet a certain goal. It may be frustrating to know that at this point, though we are technical support people, the focus of the metrics is sales.

There was a memo sent last December wherein, technical support group can now sell Dell systems. I know that I am not a good seller. I am more focus on resolving the customer’s technical problem instead of positioning parts that he or she doesn’t really need. And everyday, I never forget to pray to God that bless me with good sales and a system sale. Days passed, and I still don’t have a system sale. However, I was able to meet my daily target at times.

One day, I believe it was January 6, my Sales Coach approached me and confirmed when I had my system sale. I told her that I have not processed any system sale yet. She said to check my IDD (the tool that we used for sales) and verify my sales. I found out that there was a system sale in my account! :) To be honest, I told her I could not remember processing a system sale. She said that I must have sent the customer a system quotation and used it. I remember the person who purchased the system and he was my customer. I was very happy and grateful to God upon realizing that He had answered my system sale prayer. :)

Actually, it was not the first time that God had answered my prayers in a way I have not expected him to. Often times, we people overlooked the way God listens and attends to our needs. Like you, I am also guilty of this. There are times, wherein we thought that He doesn’t listen to us. Well, in fact, He knows what is best for us. He gives our hearts desires on His own special time. He knows very well, when to give and what to give for us even if we don’t say it out loud.

He knows everything about us. He loves us that much!

Ciao! :)

Congratulations!!!

My teammates Pam, Paolo, Enrico and Paul received a good news from our team manager last Friday. They are now regular employees of Dell. Congratulations!!! With this, they treated the whole team to a luscious meal and drinking session at Seafood Island, which is just across our building in Eastwood. We had our team building on an instant! :)

We had lots of food, drinks and fun. Oh my! I will be needing one of the best weight loss supplements out there! My mother said, I need to cut down on my carbs. :(

Well! Kudos to my teammates. Hopefully, I will also receive a good news as such, two weeks from now! :)

Auld Lang Syne

Feast and Festivities No Comments »

Every New Year, we never fail to hear the song Auld Lang Syne. I wonder what it means. Wikipedia says that it is a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns in 1788. Auld lang syne literally means “old long since” in Scottish. In English translation, it would be something like “long long ago” or better yet “For old times’ sake.” :)

Here is the lyrics of the world’s famous toast song for a New Year! :)

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

Mary, Mother of God

Feast and Festivities, Something Good 1 Comment »

We woke up at around 8AM the following day. It was January 1, 2010. We usually go to mass to utter thanksgiving and praise; and ask God’s guidance, love, care and blessings for the new year. Aside from that, January 1st is celebrated to remember Mama as the mother of God.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I heard mass at 11AM because I will be reporting for work already on the night of January 1st. There were a lot of misconception about Catholics adoration to Mama Mary. Well, maybe because there were other Catholics who do not know how to practice the proper adoration to be given to her.

Mama Mary is being venerated as the mother of God. She is not God. She is the Mother of God. We do not pray before her but we ask her to pray with us and to pray for us. Like what we do for our love ones, we pray for them. We respect her as the mother of God, our Saviour. Like what we do to the mothers of our friends and love ones.

Mama Mary is our mother. We are blessed to have her as our mother. On a personal note, I know that Mama Mary loves me so much. In spite of my weaknesses, I know that she continuously praying for me and for everybody for us to get closer to Jesus.

Ciao! :)
