Another song that Dwight wanted me to sing for them is At The Beginning.  This one, is the theme song of the movie Anastasia. I believe it was not produced by Disney. The story is about a Russian princess. It was based on a true story but there are scenes that are made out of fiction. The princess name is Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. She was the daughter of Russia’s last czar, Nicholas II.

Anastasia

In 1918, her whole family with some faithful servants were murdered. But there are rumors that Anastasia survived that night. And that she was taken cared off by one of the Bolshevik police. Several woman have falsely acclaimed that they are the Grand Duchess Anastasia. The most popular of them all was Anna Anderson. I have read a lot of articles about Anna Anderson and her claims being Anastasia. There are some incidents that you would really believe her. But DNA results said that Anna Anderson has no relation at all to the royal family. That the remains of the four daughters of the Nicholas II, including his wife and only son, Alexi have been recovered and now been accounted for. That no one escaped that dreadful night.

I always get goosebumps every time I talk about them. Well, I know that a lot of you are familiar with this song. I like this song from the cartoon movie Anastasia. But, I like Journey to the Past more.

My dear friend Dwight (who is now in Australia) is getting married in December this year. It’s been 6 years since we last see each other, but he never forgets me. Well, he said that he’s been looking around in for me in Friendster and finally last year he found me. Last January (if I am not mistaken), he said that he will be getting married and he wanted me to sing in his wedding.  Last week, he sent me a message through Friendster and told me the songs he wanted me to sing. He requested 3 songs. I forgot the title of the other song but one of the songs he requested for me to sing is  If I Never Knew You (by Jon Secada and Shanice). It was actually the theme song of Disney Movie “Pocahontas.”

I listened to the song last night as I clean my daughter’s mini-aquarium. It is a very sweet song, and Shanice hits the high tones very good! I still have couple of months to study the song and hopefully I’ll be able to sing it well.
