Soul Searching

It's my Life No Comments »

I was talking to my friend Bilog during our team building. I remember asking him if he is still in the “soul searching” stage. I told him that whatever decision he will do, make sure that it is something that he will benefit more. It’s not he’s being selfish.  I also reminded him that in every decision he will make, then he should always be ready with the consequences it may bring.

Maybe my dear friend needs some gay vacations or journey with other people with the same intention. A soul searching as we may say for personal growth as well.

I miss talking to him. We’re on different work shift so we haven’t had enough time to update each other with our lives.

Well, I guess I need to have some soul searching, too. I need some quiet time for myself for reflections. The busy city life makes me on the rush always that I often overlook the more important things in my life.

As for Bilog, I only hope and pray for his happiness.

Ciao! :)

Dios te Salve Maria

Feast and Festivities 7 Comments »

Nonet and I just came home from our looban’s Dios te Salve. Well, it’s like a little Flores de Mayo. It has been a tradition of the children in our place to hold this kind of activity in the whole month of May. Every night, the children will hold a procession within our compound with the image of Mama Mary. Each day, a family will accept her visit and offer a prayer. Then, simple snacks are served after the procession. That is everybody’s favorite! :)

On May 31, the children will participate in our parish’s annual Grand Paalay. Flowers and prayers are being offered on this day, too.

It is usually my mother who accompany her granddaughter in the compund’s Flores de Mayo. But she’s not feeling well today so I was the one who joined Nonet in the procession. It was amazing how the children sing the song Dios te Salve Maria with enthusiasm. Our schedule for the Mama Mary’s visit is on the 12th and on the 20th which was my father’s birthday.

Tomorrow night will be another Dios te Salve night. You will actually hear the children of in our looban yelling, “Dios te Salve na!  Dios te Salve na!” . When my daughter hears that one, she will immediately grab her baseball cap and ready herself for the procession. :)

Here’s what they sing during the procession:

Dios te salve Maria
(Language: Spanish)

Dios te salve Maria, llena eres de gracia;
el Señor es contigo, bendita tu eres
entre todas las mujeres
y bendito es el fruto de tu vientre Jesus.

Santa Maria
Madre de Dios,
ruega por nosotros pecadores, ahora
y en la hora de nuestra muerte. AMEN.

Mother’s Day!

According to wikipedia, the celebration of Mother’s Day was holiday created by Anna Jarvis and it’s now being celebrated across the globe and on various days. It complements Father’s Day, the celebration honoring fathers.

But more countries celebrate Mother’s day on the second Sunday of May. Today is Mother’s day and I would like to greet all the mothers in the world a Happy Mother’s Day.

When I woke up this morning, I uttered a little prayer and greeted Mama Mary a Happy Mother’s Day. Before I leave the house for work, I kissed my mom and said Happy Mother’s Day. Well, she greeted me too. :) I always pray to God to keep bless my mother with good health and a long life.

When I became a mother, I appreciated my own mother the more. We should always love and respect our mother. I will be bringing home a cake for her later on as a gift for all loving and taking care of us, her children. And for all the sacrifices she did for our family.

Fun at Casanjo!

Yesterday we had our team building at Casanjo I Resort in Cainta Greenpark Cainta, Rizal. I decided to attend our team building to relax. The place was really cool and relaxing. Aside from that, I want to spend some good times with my friends. We took advantage of the good food and drinks. :) Of course, I didn’t miss singing in its videoke machine! :)

I didn’t stay long though, because I still need to work today, but I really enjoyed it! :) Hopefully, it wouldn’t be the last. :)

Ciao! :)
