Disneyland Dream

It's my Life, Little Antoinette, travel No Comments »

I was reading an old magazine last night, when Nonet sat beside me and looked on what I am reading. Then she saw a picture of Mickey Mouse. The picture was taken at Hongkong Disneyland. She asked where that place it and I told her that it is Disneyland. Then she asked to bring her there.. :)

Well, I also have this dream of going to Disneyland. It is a good thing that Disneyland found a home in Hongkong. My dream of going there will be easier to turn it into reality. :) But due to other priorities, my dream of going there has been set aside. Up until last night, when my dear daughter asked me to bring her to Disneyland and meet Mickey and Minnie.

I told her that, mommy will save money for it and when she’s old enough to enjoy the place, we will go there. She was delighted! :) She said that she will eat more, have siesta in the afternoon and will not sleep late at night. In that way, she will grow up faster and we can visit Disneyland.. :)

Sooner or later, we’ll get to greet Mickey, too! :)

Ciao! :)

Though this song may have been playing since the first quarter of 2008, I am still enjoying this song lately.. :)

Do you hear me,
I’m talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky oh my, baby I’m trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

They don’t know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I’ll wait for you I promise you, I will

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I’m sailing through the sea
To an island where we’ll meet
You’ll hear the music, feel the air
I’ll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you’re all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

The Way I Am

lyric sheet, songs of my life No Comments »

By: Ingrid Michaelson

If you were falling
Then I would catch you

You need a light
I’d find a match

Cause I love the way you say good morning
And you take me the way I am

If you are chilly
Here take my sweater

Your head is aching
I’ll make it better

Cause I love the way you call me baby
And you take me the way I am

I’d buy you Rogaine
When you start losing all your hair

Sew on patches
To all you tear

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise
And you take me the way I am mmm

You take me the way I am
You take me the way I am

Cadillac One: Obamamobile

History, In the News, lifestyle No Comments »

I received an email this morning from my previous team leader, Vane. It has been said that President Obama is more important than anybody in the past and so is the new presidential limo, called Obamamobile. The car really amazed me. :)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The mobile was built based on a Cadillac chasis by General Motors in Detroit. Though the company didn’t give the precise information on how it will protect the president, we know that it is it’s primary purpose.

Cadillac One is its official call sign but it will always be known as the Obamamobile. With its features on how the mobile will defend the president from its detractors, I don’t think Mr. President will even need a personal injury claims.

Like other, presidential vehicles, it has a bulletproof glass and armour plating throughout. It has been hermetically-sealed also that will make it withstand chemical weapons. The mobile is also packaged with foldable desktop, a wi-fi ready laptop and with a satellite phone that has a direct line to US Vice president and the Pentagon. Wow! What a feature! :)

Well, that is if you’re the president of the United States of America. But for ordinary citizens, we need always to think about our security and safety when on the road. Accidents could happen on the time you expect it to occur. Whiplash or neck injuries can mess one’s life. But then, if you accidentally got it, then a whiplash injury claims can be of good help.

Even non-motor vehicle is a not an exemption. Though, our main and public roads have designated lanes for bicycles, bikers can never be sure of their safety especially when on the road. It a good thing though, to know that there are companies who offer Bicycle accident claims.

As per Obamamobile, it has to be really good and will shield the president from any attacks. I just hope one day, I will be able to ride in it. :)

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Maybe, our good old pets met papa at the foot of the bridge and together they crossed the bridge. Never will they experience starvation and thirst anymore, never they will be parted. They will always be remembered in our hearts and in our minds.. :)

Remembering a father

family, It's my Life 1 Comment »

Last Sunday, 25th of January, my family remembered the 2nd death anniversary of my father. He died at the age of 54 because of a cancer. He had a stage 4 Lymphoma. I don’t remember anymore what type of Lymphoma he had. Although, I took charge of keeping all of his medical records for the benefits that my mother received when he died.

It has been 2 years. Though, it seemed normal for us not to see him everyday, but we really do miss him. My father wasn’t a perfect father and husband. But within the 26 years of my existence, he had been a loving father.

rainbow bridge

I know he was able to cross the rainbow bridge. I know that he’s in a better place now. A peaceful and happier place with God.

Though he may not be physically around, his love for us will go on. And, he will always be loved and remembered.

A prayer

On Economy

In the News, lifestyle No Comments »

As the new president of the United States of America has sworn to his duties and responsibilities, the world is on guard on what President Barack Obama will do in resolving the current economic problem his country and the world is experiencing now.

Like many Americans,. I believe that President Obama is the new hope of America. Well, I am being positive that in the future we’ll have a better conversion rate optimization.

Barack Obama: 44th President of United States of America

History, lifestyle 1 Comment »

America is in great rejoicing right now. Barack Obama has sworn to office yesterday, January 20, 2009 at Washington DC as the 44th President of the United States of America.

It was an extraordinary celebration. The world’s eyes are set to the inauguration of the new US President. A president that will give US and the world a new hope for peace and economy.

Well, I have the full inaugural speech of President Barack Obama. Here are some of its parts. These are actually my personal favorite. To read the complete Inaugural speech, just click here.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet…

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West – know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist…

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world’s resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it…

America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations…

Well, congratulations to and more power President Obama.

A Night with the Generals

It's my Life, lifestyle No Comments »

Last Saturday, I was invited by my dear friend Jenni to attend her dad’s Thanksgiving dinner at Villamor Airbase. I asked my cousin Joy to join me there. It was my first time to be in that kind of occasion so I was  really excited. :) We took MRT and get off at EDSA Taft Station. Then from there, we took a cab going to Villamor Airbase. I have heard Villamor Airbase in many occasions but never been there yet. I had a classmate in college who lives in Villamor Airbase. My aunt’s sister-in-law works in Villamor Airbase’ Golf Course. So, visiting Villamor was really an experience for me.

I never thought that the cab driver has no idea where Villamor Airbase is located. I called my friend Jenni and she said that we’ve gone so far already. She told me to tell the driver that Villamor Airbase is just beside NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) Terminal 3.

Finally we arrived safely at Villamor Airbase. Jen isn’t around yet when we arrived so we waited for her at the gate. I had a little talk with military men who serve as “guard” at the entrance of Gate 4. Then, I learned that Villamor Airbase was named in honor of a Filipino pilot, Jesus Villamor, who fought during World War II. I also learned that Villamor Airbase is actually the home of Philippine Air Force.

I did some research about Villamor Airbase. Wikipedia says that:

Villamor Air Base is home of the Philippine Air Force. It is chiefly used as an air base for PAF transport and helicopter flights. It is also the military base that the Philippine president uses when departing for foreign or domestic trips abroad, though foreign departures are mostly done at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The air base is named in honor of a Filipino pilot, Jesus Villamor, who fought during World War II.

The base was originally called Nichols Field during the time of the Philippine Commonwealth period and even after Philippine independence (which was named Nichols Air Base). The complex also includes the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. In 1997, the base was reduced to a small portion to make way for the construction of NAIA Terminal 3.

In 2007, there will be a Skyway exit to both the air base and NAIA Terminal 3.

Villamor Airbase

Jenny and her bestfriend Glady arrived at around 8:45 PM (if I am not mistaken :) ). Together, we went into the hall were the celebration is being held. The Thanksgiving dinner of her father was held at the second floor of PAF Museum. I was delighted when I entered the museum. I saw different aircraft and Airforce uniform. There were also vintage vehicles on display.  My daughter will really enjoy that museum.

According to this site:

The museum stands at the intersection of national roads spanning the Villamor Air Base complex, just within sight of the mothballed Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. Adjacent to it is PAF’s Aircraft Park, where 18 kinds of military aircraft had been permanently towed.

The museum will have two portions. The first floor will have interactive displays of modern aerospace science at the first floor and then at the second floor, we will put displays of the Air Force heritage and the history of aviation,” Diano told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Tuesday while on a break from directing the installation of displays at the museum.

At the topmost floor, meanwhile, museumgoers may stand on the viewing deck and enjoy the view of the air base and its surroundings.

The ground floor will house an interactive display of aircraft parts such as turbines, landing gears, and engine cutouts, an old trainer and bomber aircraft where museum-goers may sit for the experience, and a jet simulator complete with a wall projection of a 135-degree view of what a pilot would see during a flight.

It’s too bad I wasn’t able to bring my camera with me. :( Anyway, there will always be a “next time”. :)

And so we headed for the party. It actually started at 7PM. Brig. General Fajardo is delivering his speech when we arrived. I got the chance to greet him Happy Birthday and congratulations after his speech. I told my dear friend Jenni that I was starstruck. Hehehe!!! Well, I told her that, I am just an ordinary citizen and I don’t meet Generals everyday. In fact, it was my first time to meet a “General”. He’s an Air Force General.

Our dinner was served and it was great. It should be great, I was really starving then :) .  There was an all-female band who played beautiful music. There were also dance instructors on the floor. Of course, I did dance. Hehehe!!! :) I did the swing. :) I was about to sing for the General but that didn’t push through.

That night was really a “night to remember.” Aside from meeting Gen. Fajardo, I also had an oppurtunity  to meet and greet the newly appointed PAF Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Oscar Rabena. He is Gen. Fajardo’s batchmate in PMA and Jenni’s godfather. :)

Becoming a Dyosa

Filipino Showbiz 1 Comment »

Well, I really can’t get over with Dyosa. I really love the series. :) As I have said in my previous post, everybody can be a Dyosa. But then, being a Dyosa(Goddess) means a lot of responsibility. The number 1 rule is not to fall inlove. That’s why Josephine has to give up her love for Adonis. And declined the love being offered by Kulas and Mars.

And, think about the three forms a Dyosa will turn into, Cielo, Agua and Tierra, one should have a healthy and sexy body. Well, I am healthy but a little help from Apidexin will do the second condition. :)

Anne Curtis: Dyosa

Filipino Showbiz, nature 1 Comment »

I watched the finale of Dyosa last night. Dyosa(Goddess) is a fantaserye being aired on ABS-CBN on primetime. The final episode of Dyosa showed that in the end of all battles, evil will always be defeated by good. And, as I  Corinthian 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

The truthful love of Adonis for Josephine paved way in defeating his evil father, Tadaklan. The purest love of a mother shown by Sinukuan to her daughter, Josephine. That even though she is in her wicked sister’s body, Magayon, that didn’t stop her in giving Josephine a motherly love.

Adonis and Dyosa Tierra

The picture shows Anne Curtis as Dyosa Tierra. She chants “Lika limpera timpera ciera tierra!” to transform her to Dyosa Tierra(Goddess of the Earth). The other picture is Sam Milby as Prinsipe Adonis of Kasamian. He is the son of Tadaklan, the head of Kasamyans.

At the end of the story, Adonis vanished when he was hit by sun’s rays at sunrise. Josephine cried as she witnessed Adonis being shattered by sun’s light. She was still in agony when Amang Suga told her that she needs to be crowned as “Dyosa” sooner. Her coronation as Dyosa was a success.

Since, the first rule of being a goddess is not to fall in love, Mars opted to leave Kabanua and return to Earth as a human being. He asked Josephine to erase all the memories and thoughts he has about Kabanua and all the things that had happened.

Mars and Dyosa Cielo

This one shows Anne as Dyosa Cielo. She uttered Bambun dumarum kalyedun ciera cielo!” to turn her into Dyosa Cielo (Goddess of the Heavens). Beside her is Zanjoe Marudo as Mars. He was the son of Marsian. A Kabanua who chose to live in the world of mortals and marry an ordinary woman.

Josephine then accompanied Kulas as he goes back to the sea. They bid goodbye to each other. As Kulas, is on his way home to the bottom of the sea, he met a mermaid who looked like Josephine. Her name is Perlas.

Kulas and Dyosa Agua

This is Anne as Dyosa Agua. The incantation to morph her into Dyosa Agua (Goddess of the Seas) is “Lama rameda marina domena ciera agua!“. Beside Dyosa Agua is Kulas/Barakula played by Luis Manzano. He was a gibut(merman) who was assigned as the Guardian of Dyosa. He is also the childhood friend of Josephine(Anne).

Magayon died as punishment for all the wickedness she did, while Diana lost her sanity.

I was really moved by what Josephine said before the story comes to an end. It is true that everyone of us is capable of being a goddess. We should not forget that we are all responsible in taking care of our home.

We are all accountable to whatever happens to our sea, air and land. If we look around us, we’ll find an unusual cold weather that we experience today. The worldwide natural disasters remind us people to take care of our home, Earth.

I can say that Dyosa is the best fantaserye ever produced. Congrats to Anne Curtis and the rest of the cast of “Dyosa”. :)

nanana nanana…
