Last Saturday, I had a date with my pretty “barkadas”. It was Pinky’s birthday last August 21, and we asked her to treat us so we could see each other. Daisy and I see each other more often than I see Pinky and Ime.
Pinky is the most poised among us, and I’m the most “baluga”. Hehehe! Daisy always finds time to pamper herself. She goes to salon and has her hair done. Like what she always tell me, even if were chubby moms, we should always look beautiful. Ime, on the other hand has her own kakikayan always. They all wear make up. I asked my best friend Daisy for an eye shadow and applied some. We are all pretty, anyway.

This picture was taken during our graduation about 5 years ago. Whew! Daisy is the one on the far left, then Pinky, then I, and Imelda. How I miss the old days. :)

Whew! We have been wiser and stronger over the years. Yet, still beautiful.

We celebrated Pinky’s birthday at Robinson’s galleria. We met at around 1:30pm. If in the office, my colleagues tag me as a late person, well among us 4, Pinky is always the one late. Love you, Pinks! ? Imagine this, the 3 of us are already in Robinson, and when I texted Pinky, she said that she just finished shower!
After about 30 minutes of waiting, Pinky came and the 4 of us chat as if we have not seen each other for years. Well, the last time that we had this date was about 2-3 years ago already. We missed each other a lot. We talked about the latest things in our lives. We talked about our love life, work and anything that we can talk about.
We ate our lunch at Iceberg. It is located on the 4th floor of Galleria. By simply looking at its façade, you’ll think that only offer ice cream, sundae and fruit splits. But, they do offer mouth-watering dishes. I had Shrimp Gambas with mushroom. It has a chilly sauce but it’s good. Pinky went for Spaghetti with mushroom and tomatoes. It an Italian style spaghetti so, it a bit sour because of the tomatoes. Ime ate Sizzling sisig and that made her sizzle. Daisy’s tummy was filled with cheesy carbonara. If you’ll ask who ordered the best dish, it’s Daisy. Though she didn’t like the garlic bread that came with it for it’s not as fresh as she expected it.
We enjoyed the meal and thanked Pinky for the treat. We also watched A Very Special Love which starred Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz. Oh my! John Lloyd really looks good in the big screen. We felt like we’re high school students! We really enjoyed the movie. It’s a feel good to see movie.
Daisy, Pinky, Ime and I have been good friends since college. We have witnessed each other’s up and down. Though, we don’t see each other now as often like before, we know in our hearts that we will always be there for each other. Our friendship is something that we value and cared for. A friendship that will last a lifetime.
The reunion concert of Eraserheads is a dream come true for their fans. Though the said concert had undergone a lot of intrigues, it came to reality last Saturday, August 30, 2008 at The Fort’s Global City in Taguig. The original member, Eli Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raimund Marasigan were all there.

It could have been a night of fun and laughter when an unexpected incident happened. The band is already halfway through the planned 30 songs for the concert, when he was rushed to Makati Medical Center due to chest pain.
We recall that Eli had a heart attack or acute myocardial infarction in 2007. He underwent 2 angioplasty surgeries from which he recovered.
After giving him a first aide treatment in Makati Med’s critical care area, he was transferred to Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City for further treatments.
Family said that it was caused by extreme exhaustion. Eli came from his mother’s wake before going to concert. His mother died only last Thursday(August 28) due to cardiac arrest. But being a professional performer that he is, he said that the show must go on.
Organizers said that it should have been a 3-hour concert and Eli is yet to sing 15 more songs if the incident didn’t happen. Well, I believe that fans understood why the concert has to be cut short. It is said that everybody who attended the concert stood for a minute and prayed altogether for Eli Buendia’s safety.
I have attended Eheads’ concert when I was in college. I accompanied my long lost friend Malou who is a die-hard fan of Eheads. During that concert, we were like an arm away from Eli.
According to Eli’s wife, he is now stable and just getting enough rest.
I pray that Eli will get well soon. Eraserheads has been considered as the Beatles of the Philippines. There were around 60,000 fans who witnessed that “historical event”.
